Went snowboarding for my first day of the season on Saturday. There was no snow except for about a 20 foot wide run from top to bottom of the lift that they made. Still had fun.

In this part of Utah, we generally see the first snowfall in September.
All we've gotten this year was less than one inch last week. Not much rain, either.

It's also been unseasonably warm, with temperatures in the 60s most of the month and even a 70 degree day. Normal November highs are in the 40s.
Though the forecast say winter is coming... It's just late this year. More snow next weekend and temperatures are turning much cooler (albeit still warmer than average for this time of year), starting today.

...Though I'd be totally fine if winter just decided to skip this year.

Winter is coming late to CO as well. Still riding mountain bikes up in Steamboat a couple weeks ago. Got our first real storm last Thurs (13" in Steamboat...only a few in Denver). Looks like potential for another foot in the mountains tonight with another dusting in Denver.

I'm all about a nice long "summer"...but once the snow falls, I want a TON of it.

I'd love to move to Colorado, but the whole driving in four feet of snow down a mountain terrifies me as a flatlander from the south.

My wife is from SC...she was scared at first, but has come around to it. It is amazing what a good set of snow tires and a good AWD system can do. Of course, that doesn't account for all of the stupid drivers and road-ignorant wildlife out there.

We are full though...so no worries.

I've got friends who can vouch for me, so hopefully I can get on in a probationary resident status. It's like moving to Canada - You'd better have a job, a degree, and money or you'll get kicked out. :p

By the way, how's Snoopy?

Some more snow in the mountains last night, looking good. Not as early of a build-up as last year, but I will take what I can get.

This was taken the weekend after thanksgiving last year. I am hoping there are many, many, many days like this soon.

Well this week it finally game to NYC, the colder weather. Yesterday was a high of 41 and driving home at night there was a tiny bit of flurrying. So far this fall it's been in the low 60's and high 50's. Not bad. This week the highs are all in the 40's. Just spent $150 on some under armour base layers as my greek olive oil blood does not do cold well.

Ughh it was 56 this morning. Had to put socks on with the flip flops so I could walk the dogs. Winter can kiss my ass.

^ I don't know how you Canadians do it. I lived in Buffalo for 4 years and at first it's nice, but months on end of nothing but dirty/muddy snow and cold does not make for a good mood.

Honestly it's not really the snow and cold that's bad, it's the darkness. It's nice around Christmas time with all the lights and decorations and such, then comes mid January, then it's like 3+ months of darkness and extreme cold. Get maybe 6-7 hours of daylight, so if you work, you miss it. The nice thing is it's fairly low pace style of living, at least where I am, so I'll take that over a busy city. Heck I'd even go for a smaller town if I was not tied to a job.
