You mean school hasn't started yet? Damn. We started early August. :(

The day after labor day is the logical day to start, IMO.

But kids in my area started on Tuesday last week. So, they went to school four days, get a holiday, and go again for another four days.

Its a law now that we start the day after labor day

The school is being a dick this year and putting in a "bess can't go there" bullshit thing that strongly restricts where you can go on the internet.

Gamespot? Yay.
Shakespeare? NAY. Bess can't go there! It's too violent!!

Fuckin' Bama and his Liberal cronies trying to control what we can do on the internet.

Damn it! Damn it! I got ready for school this morning, and thought to grind up enough coffee for a couple of days & put it in a baggie. I left the coffeemaker in my wife's car. (We carpool, since she has to drive past the school.)

Quit whining.

I spend 5 grand a semester on tuition and 300 on books for each class.
300 for parking. 600 for a laptop I didnt even want.

I don't get why people need to buy completely new supplies every year. I was using the same backpack for my entire high school years.

I was too.. I still use the same backpack periodically for overnighters or bringing supplies for a long day's riding trip, etc. It still looks and works fine.

I graduated high school 25 years ago. People attending high school now will be amazed how quickly time passes once you graduate and get into the real word and start working and raising a family, etc. Time passes by incredibly fast after high school. I went to high school reunion a few years ago, and most of the skinny hotties in high school are fat now. Even a lot of skinny dudes got fat. Guys who were 145lbs soaking wet had big beer guts on them and in their 40's now. Time changes everybody.

We had a tea/hot water electric kettle in our classroom in grade 4. Some kids walking by the kettle got slightly burned walking by it as it was boiling, so teacher yelled at all of us for being stupid, and then banned the kettle.

Both of my kids are back at University today. $250 won't pay for the books for the classes they have today, much less the tuition. Oh for the cheap days of high school.

My text book costs 150 bucks if I lose it.

Let me check the inside cover.

Woot! Just brewed my first cup of coffee. :) Let the first day with kids begin! I was here from 6:30 am until a little after midnight, with a break in between to go home, eat dinner, and feed the animals. Hopefully, it's not another long day today.

I honestly don't understand where you come up with the time to be a teacher, a family man, a moderator, and sleep all in a single day.

Math teachers and caffeine....such a winning combination. Too bad I don't work where you do. I brought an espresso machine into my classroom last year. My first period class absolutely loves the way my room smells when they arrive. :)

I'm 16. I've been in school for a week.

First week of school was tiring

Edit. 250 bucks in new clothes? DAMNNN. I mean, I'm sure I've spent all that on my north face jackets and Hollister t shirts and etc but I've never spent that much at once.

That's sad...even in the mid 80's I think my school clothes were more than $250.
