My cat is so nice she brought me a little DEAD mouse in the morning. Morning = 3AM. She was so proud of herself...

And... how proud were you, being awake at that hour for a dead mouse? :)

Btw, we used to have 2 dogs at home too, at the same time as those 2 cats. If any cat from the neighbourhood chased our cats they'd just run back into the garden and stand between the legs of one of the dogs, that would stop any cat from continuing the chase :)

And the other way around, the cats would beat up any dog that tried to get into the garden.

If you want a pet you can play with, take a dog. If you want another 'person' in the house, with a personality and a will of its own, take a cat.
If you like animals, take both, but take a puppy when you already have cats, so the dog gets used to cats while it's not a problem yet.

Edit: Typo fixed

I think my cat and dog reversed there rolls because my dog goes after the mice and my cat goes after strangers!

Your cat seems to be doing all right.

One my moms friends had a cat which used to leave dead mice and such on her owner's pillow! Did it each morning when she went to the bathroom.

I think it is a matter of education. We have evolved so much in the last 10,000 years. Just ask us. We have become so evolved, that we can justly criticize prior generations for what they considered just day to day living. This means we should bring our pets along with us. The key is education. Every can and dog must have sensitivity training. We could all just get along then. What a wonderful world it would be :p

Woo-hoo, cat story.
Had a family cat who used to bring us presents. One time I found a mouse on the back porch that had been eaten from right behind the neck to right before the hind legs and tail, but the little spine was still there holding the two ends together. There was the cat, looking at me as if to say "Hey, I left you the back legs and hind quarters. That`s the best part."
