You can put your boner in the mashed potatoes if it makes you feel good, they're your mashed potatoes.

You put raw, chopped garlic in your mashed potatoes? Or do you use powder/cook it first?

I just put it in the water with the raw potatoes. It gets mashed with the potatoes once they are done. Probably a better way to do it, but this is the lazy method I use.
