And i give you plant based mashed potatoes

Veganism is a paradigm derived from living in a post-industrial, agricultural society and a mentally cancerous manifestation of "anabolism" and wanting life.

ZOMG animal-derived anything is a sin, even a little butter.

Vets put dogs and cats to "sleep" which probably sanitizes emotionally the fact those creatures are also being killed.

Now, while veganism is irrational and nonsensical from a nutrition standpoint, the actions induced by the framework and outlook has resulted in some beneficial effects to society at large(diets do matter, animals are raised in literal shitholes, big ag is shady and powerful), thus an ever small amount of toleration can be permitted for their activities; they are in a more passionate state and thus actually do things. But under no circumstance can their whole outlook and way of life become the dominant paradigm.

Practically all non-economists do not integrate into their thought process the concept of tradeoffs and scarcity. The dilemma being between poorly raised cows and the results negative effects(i.e methane release, disease) vs deforestation of some prized "nature's real estate and it's flora and fauna", like rainforests.

Potatoes (89%), Rice Drink [Water, Rice, Sunflower Oil, Calcium Phosphates, Stabiliser (Gellan Gum), Sea Salt, Salt, Calcium Chloride, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12], Vegetable Margarine [Rapeseed Oil, Palm Oil, Water, Salt, Emulsifier (Mono- and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids), Flavouring, Colour (Carotenes)], Salt, White Pepper
And of course Palm Oil is the substitute.

I make my mashed potatoes with milk and butter. I also add a little mayo. So, while I definitely am not vegan, I am saddened that people laugh at this pic and make fun of it while they are the idiots who just don't get it. Its mashed potatoes made with plants, not just the obvious POTATOE.

Yep. It's just vegan mashed potatoes: good for people that can't consume milk-based products or are just vegan for whatever reason.

I have nothing against vegans. They are right, the animals are usually treated terribly. I don't think we should all go vegan, but we should definitely be asking for regulations on how farm animals are treated - both for those used for dairy and those used for meat. We should all probably eat less meat too.

I'm secretly hoping my next gf is pescatarian so I cut down on meat intake by default.

It's also pretty easy to figure out, dairy products go in mashed potatotes, this is saying they do not use animal products. The aliens keep flying by because of posts like these, not this actual product.

Many people have no idea how to cook, so I am not surprised that people think mashed potatoes are just mashed up potatoes.

Never tried mayo in my mash, just butter, half-and-half, couple garlic gloves and some grated parmesan.

I do the Alton Brown method. I heat up some smashed garlic cloves in the cream very gently, then infuse the cream with the garlic, strain the garlic, and then add that to the mashed potatoes with butter and salt. Nice garlic flavor

That's WAAAAAAY too much work. Mash them with lots of butter...a bit of heavy whipping cream, (or just milk) add salt and pepper, serve with gravy. Add whole-kernel corn or other vegetable if you choose.

I make mashed potatoes "vegan" (EVOO/salt) normally since I'm lactose-intolerant plus just don't like the way most dairy stuff tastes anyway.

Plus I like the way POTATOES taste and they're healthier that way too! 😉

You put raw, chopped garlic in your mashed potatoes? Or do you use powder/cook it first?
