LOL DefRef.

Well, considering Bush hasn't written too many of his speeches... ;)

"Don't mess with Texas!" is about all he's written. :) jk!

Oh, sorry - I forgot.. we're all supposed to get along now and be warm and fuzzy.
Yes, it was a decidedly statesmanlike speech by a pathological liar.
I just loved the jaw clenching and teeth grinding too...
But - all is now forgotten and we are one loving unified country now. :)

I thought it was a good speech too. And also nice to see so many of you thought so too....

I'm looking forward to hearing Bush's speech in a few minutes. He has been very gracious the last few days, so I'm anticipating another good one too...

DanC - yep, you got it right. Warm and fuzzy <grin>. I bet that Al Gore did surprise you, it was a very good speech with very good feeling and thought behind it. His emotion was obvious and I feel that it was genuine (the struggle to contain his emotion and keep the best face possible).

Russ - Just say - "I thank Al Gore for giving an appropriate and well spoken concession. God Bless". It won't hurt, I promise.

And we can now move on. I am sure Gore will move on to 100K a pop speaking engagements
for the next 4 years until he decides to run again in 2004...:)

I can only imagine the disappointment he must feel.
I can say this: He stood up like a man and delivered a manly concession.
I reserve the right to think he didn't mean a word of it, but that's just my opinion.

He did however do the right, and noble thing. :)

No argument there. I'd be on the verge of tears myself if I'd just spent over a month trying to sue my way in to the Whitehouse and still lost.

I don't mind gridlock..i don't want him doing anything for the next 4 years. Bi-partisanship is always good when you win. What a load of bs.

Republicans are funny. DO YOU ACTUALLY THINK BUSH is any better then gore? I mean HONESTLY? I hate both gore and bush equally, BUT I MEAN COME ON! Wake up and smell the coffee people, bush is an idiot, and so is gore. None of them are better.

The only good thing is bush wont be re-elected in four years, hopefully the republicans wont even run him for re-elect(yeah right). Gore sure wont be running in 2004 unless the democrats really ARE that dumb.

Time for some worthwhile people, like, McCain.

Bush and Gore are not too far apart politically. Even though people think Bush is an idiot (probably deserved), Gore thinks he knows everything.

Most likely everyone knows and has friends of both types. I'd prefer the guy in the White House to realize his flaws and look to surround himself with people that can tell him which shoe goes on which foot, and why certain policies are better than others. I DON'T want a President that is going to ignore what everyone says because he is superior.

I really would have liked to see Alan Keyes get elected

As I've heard once before--

<< The Republicans are on the outside, like the Democrats are on the inside; Each having almost IDENTICAL financial backers to grease all the appropriate orifices and holes.... >>

-Jello Biafra

or, just take a look at my sig--Am I wrong?:D

i dunno much about politics, but i'm just happy this whole thing is over so maybe the stock market can stabilize again... not that this was the whole cause for the dizzying drops, but part of it...

The only "idiots" are the people that bought hook line and sinker the democratic spin and lie that Gov. Bush is a moron.

It was a campaign trick people. The election is over, you can stop repeating it now.

It's amazing to me how some people just buy the party line and parrot it ad nausuem.
