I love how MS LOST ground. Great job Windows Phone Team!

Well they've been losing marketshare for a while which is why we have Windows Phone 7. Those figures still probably include Windows Mobile phones. I'm sure they'll grow this year. People generally like WP7, especially those kids that love their Xbox's would get it.

If you don't own an Xbox or listen to music(Zune, etc...), is there any point in getting WP7?

Every thing I always see advertises that as the strong points...I have no need for any of those.

I have no need for Xbox either and have my own music collection but you do realize how many Xbox's are out there right? I don't want to buy a WP7 but there's many interesting things in it that I see would attract people to it.

Not really surprising. While RIM sales remain strong, their 2010 lineup wasn't earth shattering. Based on the previews they've shown, they have a much better lineup for 2011 - we'll see how they implement them.

Very smooth user experience, solid Office and Exchange integration, interesting devices. The Dell Venue Pro, HTC Mozart, and HTC Surround are all vairly unique from a hardware perspective. Not to mention the aforementioned top-notch music subsystem, and xBox integration.

How is this not titled, "Apple still not quite there yet." or "Apple stagnates in Q1".

Oh, I didn't check the who posted... "Let the hate flow through you!"

Apple launched a new device in the period in question. RIM did not.

Edit: I didn't say it was more fail, I'm just interested in balance.

Correction: Apple launched one new device on AT&T. Android manufacturers launched 15 new devices across all networks.

They are still one of the major forces in the industry.

Apparently, the statistics just show that more people are starting to take notice of Android. But... I think for a good reason. Remember the free Android phone and free Windows Phone 7 deals last Holiday season? Windows Phone 7 is even more limiting than iPhone. Guess what the next obvious choice was?

Apple's marketshare is saturated and they only have one phone. RIM has many phones on all carriers.

The $50 3GS should definitely help Apple with marketshare since we know extremely less people buy top end smartphones than cheaper priced ones, especially around the world. Apple needs more options for consumers.

$50 3GS didn't help them against $0 Samsung Captivate last Holiday, I tell you.

I even bit the deal myself. The phone more than paid for the contract.

Without a chart showing change over time, the chart you posted doesn't make any sense as a reply to:
Yeah it does. It shows that RIM is still a massive force in the market with only one peer, Apple. To say RIM has been 'taken down' is pushing the envelope of reality. My post restores reality.
