Anarchy Online

I finally registered the game; now the patching program is giving me hell. Even EQ wasn't this buggy 😛

-----------------------------------------------------------

I just updated to version 11.3, logged back in, and - apparently - in the time that it took me to update it, they released a new version, 11.5, which I am now downloading :disgust:

When did this sucker come out?
I'm so behind the games these days.
I just started playing Tribes2 a month ago. 😕

<< No, I won't pay $13.95 a month.

$9.95 is my limit (So far
>>

I went with the three month installment with EQ, which is what I'm doing with AO (if you make a $50 investment in the game, might as well play it for a few months). 3 months is $33.

...look like it has potential? I, too, played EQ and thought it was the best game ever 🙂 Does AO look like it might rival EQ in graphics and game play?

Beta 4 was so bad, it convinced me not to get the final release. The camera movement was out of control, and when you locked the camera down, it got stuck behind walls so you couldn't even see your character.

AO was just a cookie cutter MMORPG with different monsters. I have been playing WWII Online, now this is a game with real potential, granted, right now it is just a slow moving FPS, but if they implement the Role Playing portion correctly this game is going to rock.

I've been beta'ing it since phase II... it's just EverQuest in space with lasers (aka boring as heck), but I stayed on as an obligation before open beta hit finally to help out on bugs. I wouldn't waste my time on it, though.

There's a few things which they need to implement (and will within about a month) that will make this probably the best game ever:

Ranking
Missions system
Running over people 😀
non-bugged multicrewing
resource system (limiting numbers of tanks zooming around 😉)
Navy

Most of these they're just about done with and are finishing/testing before releasing them. Once they do, though, mark my words that I've been saying long before the game came out: This will be one of the, if not THE best game of all time 🙂.

GT: that looks identicqal to the list I spouted off last night on irc....WWII has a ton of potential, i just hope they dont squander it. I do love it now even as infantile as it is.

Question about WWII...

Do you guys have a horrible wait time to log into the game?? I have a couple of friends that got it and they won't play it because it takes nearly 10-15 minutes just to login and when they die, they get booted to the desktop and have to go through it all over again.

amish

EA: it is VERY slow loading, but I have never been booted back to desktop so once I am in I am good. It is quick after the initial load up.

My friend and I were both beta testers, and I quit playing it (WWII) for that very same reason...he said it has improved since the recent patch....you guys still waiting forever to load and spawn back in?

I was in the beta4 of Anarchy as well. Didn't seem to have any problems with it and thought it was pretty sweet. I'm going to give it a month before I buy it though so they can get the minor bugs worked out.

I'm playing Anarchy Online right now, and it really sucks. Of course, I also thought EQ really sucked at first, but I couldn't put it down after 4 days. Oh well, I've got it for the next 4 months. Maybe it'll grow on me.
