Anarchy Online: free of charge.

I signed up for the free trial a couple months ago. Seems like a pretty good game, but as someone who had never played an MMORPG type game, I had a hard time getting into it and I cancelled before the free trial was over. With this offer, I might give it another try.

awesome game.. best mmorpg i've played.

does have it's weaknesses though, certain aspects of the game could be improved. i wasnt a big fan of their shadowlands expansion pack, but maybe they've made changes since i last played (about a year ago)

Doesn't take much reading... the basic version is free, then if you want to play the expansions, it'll cost you. No subscription fee or software fee for the free version.

I haven't tried it yet either, myself. Was thinking about it, since I just freed up about 4GB of space getting rid of HL2.
