See, this is what happens when I have too much free time. I got to thinking, which is usually bad, seeing the AnandTech effect on the Times.com voting and other various sites. There's lots of sites out there that don't deserve to be on the internet. Whether they be fueled by racism, bigotry, or just plain wrong. Isn't it conceivable that a group of people such as ourselves could band together to overload the bandwidth of said sites? Forcing them to surrender and stop their evile ways?

I have too much free time, maybe. Just a thought.

One of the things that makes this country the greatest place on earth is that we have the freedom of lawful assembly and the right to speak our views,no matter how evil, ugly or repugnant those views may be to others. Trying to stop others from exercising those freedoms while retaining them for ourselves is not only morally wrong but it's also fool hardy, how long then would it be after
all before someone decided that the folks from anandtech had warped, misguided viewpoints and needed to be silenced ?

True, everybody has equal opinion to utilize the internet to speak their opinion, but I think it would be really fun to bog down the KKK's website for the fun, not political/social value of it. I don't think anyone here would really mind if that happened.

While we're at it, we could do a DDOS on this "Organization for the Cessation of Free Speech" that you're advocating.

Baffled has, as she generally does when she's not having a blonde moment, made a very good point. To add to it a little, would not your idea essentially be a DOS attack? Not exactly the sort of thing that I'd want to participate in myself since most law enforcement agencies would frown on that sort of thing.

i could sink to that level.....but most sites like that are blocked at work.....

is it possible that the more 'free speech' we let the extreme groups have... the more rights we could loose ? think about that...

What I ain't good enough To waste a Stinky Rainbow on.

Now I REALLY feel Hurt.....

Although Browns I think put up a better fight here in PA.

Stupid rainbows are all hatchery fish, like fishing in an aquarium.

Guess that's why I gave it up.....
