Looks like we might catch these guys in the next 7 days. 5th Place is about 1 month at the current rate.

Unfortunately, my stats have fallen. I have some cluster issues I am having to work thru. So please give us a hand if you can.
 
Sorry boss, but my systems are already crunching as much as possible. Unfortunately, I don't have enough spare cash to get a 380W or greater power supply before I can complete my AMD XP 3000+ system. 🙁
 
im hoping for some rain or something to keep the heat down so i can bring all my crunchers back online! bring on winter!!!!!
 
Sad to say, but my XP2000+, XP3200+ and PIII 600 are going offline from this week onwards as I'm off to a nine months studen exchange to the USA. My P4 2.8 HT laptop though will still be crunching when it's on ... wish I could take my PCs with me but airlines are so damn stuborn when it comes to arguing what lugage is suitable for the plane and which one is not 😉
 
I can add about 20 Full time (minimum - could be a lot more) and 20 part time crunchers by August 17th ...

Hey Mondo - I noticed you have a ";1" after your nickname that's on our team. I looked and found just "mondobyte" with a bunch more points. Are you intentially separating them?
 
Hey guys I currently have 4 machines crunching and was looking at setting up a mini farm net booting off a linux machine I have. I have tested the setup already and verified it works on an existing Nforce2 board I have. I am looking to start with 3-4 nodes. My question is on power usage. How much does one athlon xp at 2GHz use for power? I was planning on getting mobile athlons and 256meg of ram no HDD or optical drives. Also can u have more than one machine powered by a single power supply? Thanks again guys

To make it blunt. NO. Actually, they are remotes that I need to coerce back into the "Hordes".

There are quite a few points there.

I also have Guardian, Toctomesh, Candles r US (all new crunchers) as well as Temujin.

Keeping track of the entire combined Horde is something of a challenge as they are spread over 7 sites in 5 states.

Temujin is a relatively small site that is coming online tomorrow or Friday ... 4 quad P IV Xeons (hyperthreaded) or so ... s/b good for about 32 instances of FaD ... thinking about setting all of them up as separate FaD installations. Then again, there are about 30 or so other computers there that may be added too, if I get permissions.

Yea, make sure your still showing on the team. They messed up the renumbering, and you may need to load your team number in again.
 
all i know is that im STILL missing on the stats 3 jobs that totaled over 1,000 hits!! the response from the main support guy is that the jobs were counted according to the statsquery but have NEVER shown up on the stats page at any point and thus are not counting for the team. his stance was firm that the stats updates on the website are NOT #1 priority and that stats are updated manually from time to time and that was my only hope in getting those 3 results counted. if this wasnt for such a good cause and if i was a hardcore stats geek i would be off this project in no time. their response regarding stats issues is putrid at best :|

You might be able run 2 systems of one PSU if its a good one (500w+?) & you have no drives.
I assume that FaD can just run & flush from a RAM drive then?

You should be able to find out the power consumption of just the cpu here but you still have the power consumption of the mbrd,RAM & vid card to factor in.

GREAT... Thats good news, hate falling back like that, guess its parr for the course over there right now.

You getting any traction on the CPU Rating Mondo? I've moved off the betas til they get that fixed too.

./fadsetup -projects -beta

That should do it, then you have to un tar the original tarball for 1.23c over it, and restart
