Halloween is a few days away, which means that the holiday season is shortly upon us!

Welcome BACK to (or Welcome TO if you are new) the Anandtech Off Topic 2014 Secret Santa!!! Jeff (amdskip) and I (Matt) will be participating as well this year. For those that don't know, Jeff and I are the ones who have organized this Secret Santa year in and year out. We are hoping for another great turnout!

Questions can be directed to either this thread or via PM to Jeff or me.

We request that the gifts be a minimum of $20 value. Please only sign up if you are serious. The deadline for signing up is THANKSGIVING! (November 27th by Midnight of your time zone)

Rules (Very Important... Please Read!):

1) Please try to mail your gift with enough time to be there before Christmas. All gifts should be mailed out by **December 12th-15th**, no later. If you think it might take longer to arrive, please send it out sooner.

2) For the US, we recommend USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. We would say this is the cheapest and fastest way for smaller boxes or packages. It usually takes 3 to 4 business days on average, sometimes shorter, to reach its destination. When you ship out your package to your person, you will be asked to send us the tracking number for the package.

3) For the Canadian and other countries members, please use a trusted shipping method that is trackable. We just want something we can use to see if the package gets there or not. Also, if your address does not fit the format of the form, please provide the correct way to mail something to you in the “Additional Information” box.

4) When you get your pairing, you will be assigned to either Jeff or me as your Secret Santa host. At that point, all questions should be PM'd to that host. I won't be able to answer questions for Jeff's listing just as he won't be able to answer for mine. We will do our best to answer all questions in a timely manner.

5) A list of the Secret Santas will be posted after Christmas. No, we won't tell you who your Secret Santa is early.

6) Please try to be helpful in the sign-up form. (i.e. For "Likes" don't put "Stuff" and that's it). Remember, chances are the person that has you has NO idea who you are/what you like... While its fun in family secret santa’s to not give help, it sucks for strangers over the internet. Don’t just make the person rely on your posts on ATOT. Just because you posted about liking PC/PS/Xbox games or a certain genre of books/music/movies, that doesn’t mean that they know what you have/what you want.

7) If we can think of anything else, we will post it here. As for now, thanks for participating and happy (soon to be) holidays!!!

TL;DR version: There is none. Read the rules. They don't bite.

As promised, the list! To read it, person A->person B->person C->person A (unless additional people added, then same pattern)

In. :)

9th year participating. Always fun, and I got a bunch of cool and useful stuff last time (and in past years).

Always more fun still picking out gifts. :)

I tried to write a novel - I usually wait until the last-ish minute because I don't know what to put in there. This time, I added an Amazon wish list so I can add stuff to it - not necessarily to say "buy this stuff", but just to present a general idea of what I'm interested in. That way I can add things as I think about them.

I'm in again (despite never getting any acknowledgment what-so-ever from my recipient last year :( ).

Novels are preferred to short stories or, even worse, haikus. ;)
I hope you aren't referring to the masterful haiku in my siggy.

I'm not quite sure what I'd put under Like. Anything I could use that is PC related would be simply too much, maybe a game or two from Steam. :hmm:

There's more to life than just tech. What about hot sauces, sports teams, candy, barbecue, ect. Think outside the forum when filling out the likes.:)

I skipped last year but I'm in this time around. Thanks for doing this again guys. Much appreciated.

I played the angry birds I got last year with my kids for months: they loved it so much, such a good time.

The time-watch that I was given the year before is the only watch I own; i wore it to all of my interviews: after cutting my hair, buying a charcoal suit, wearing a white shirt and red tie... well it's the only bit of 'personality' left in my ensemble.

This is to say, yes I'm in.
