This is the only thread I could find where he mentioned his illness here and the part about the donations made it easy to not take it seriously and think that he was just someone goofing around. Many of the posters were joking around with him about it in a good natured way, but I guess his condition made it difficult for him to respond likewise or for him to communicate more clearly about the seriousness of his problems. It's a shame because I know that there are many members here who always try to help when they can see that someone really needs it.

You insensitive douche bag, understand that chemical imbalances genetic abnormalities can cause such problems and totally retard your mental stability. Not that anybody here is liable but this was an avoidable issue, it seems that he asked for help many times.
I pray it never happens to you but if it ever does where your child/parent/wife ever has a mentally debilitating issue and how it changes them; you will then realize the severity of the problem and the lack of control the person has over it.

I have Asperger's as well, it's a horrible illness that really robs people of any fun that social interaction between other people is supposed to be. I tried to commit suicide a few years ago by electricity, but it didn't work and I spent a few months in a mental hospital. I only wish this man could have received the help he needed.

Asperger's disease does not obscure a person's sense of right and wrong. We have every reason to believe this kid had at least an average level of intelligence. He was even being treated for it. It in NO way excuses him for his actions.
