I purchased my ABIT KT7-Raid in January, 2001. It had the Anandtech logo on the box...an EDITOR'S CHOICE Anandtech logo, BTW! To my knowledge, this type of accolade isn't given away like candy.
Funny; I might not be the most tech-savvy or the most experienced system builder on this forum (uh, yeah...I rate, like, #11,343 out of 11,344.) But I had zero probs w/my Abit board. I must admit that the RMA rate of the KT7
A/Raid are well documented..so I won't even go there, but I think folks bash Abit way too much. My board has been nothing but stable. To be fair, I purchased an Iwill KK266 for a rig I built for my GF (it has onboard sound...tried to save money) and it came w/a dead AGP slot. Would I purchase an IWill mobo in the future? Maybe. It WAS rated very highly by AT as well as you guys and other online sites. Just because I heard of a bad experience (heh, actually, I EXPERIENCED the bad experience!) doens't mean I write off the manufacturer as crappy. There's a lot of variables involved that could affect how the mobo ultimately perfoms. Like shipping. One mobo used as a ramp to change a flat on UPS truck = dead AGP slot or worse. I like Abit. I will go away now. But only for a minute!
