I ask a question and no one is answering it in the distributed computing or the general hardware. OT is just as bad because I'm not being entertained, UGH!

Wait aren't you the guy that asked if you could open up a hard drive and wipe a magnet across it and still have it work?

yes I am the guy. You can open a drive, look at it and close it agian.. But put a magnet across it, I was curious because lets say it did "mess up the data" wouldn't the drive be able to repair the sectors (not assuming the data necessarily...)
