I ask a question and no one is answering it in the distributed computing or the general hardware. OT is just as bad because I'm not being entertained, UGH!

yes I am the guy. You can open a drive, look at it and close it agian.. But put a magnet across it, I was curious because lets say it did "mess up the data" wouldn't the drive be able to repair the sectors (not assuming the data necessarily...)
