Cool.. Ill be getting factions aswell right off the bat.. so maybe if you start a new character with one of the new jobs... you can show me how to play and whats going on with that game.
I had about 200 days playtime in FFXI over a 3.5year period (just quit recently) So that is what I am used to with online games... 36 people working to take down a monster that takes 2-5 hours to kill. or partying with 6 people to level... (grind grind grind -.-

and fighting over monsters ect with other parties...
the thing that attracts me to guildwars is the fact that you can hire henchmen to fill out party rolls... (recalls waiting sometimes 4 hours for a party as a lvl 75 summoner on ffxi...while getting one as 75blm in 3 minutes... always)
So if you have trouble finding a healer...or a tank...you can just hire a henchman and they work well for that right?
anyway... ill be getting the game in a couple days and then if i like it ill get the expansion... (no monthly fee = AWESOMENESS.. think about how much I spent on FFXI over 3 years...i could have bought...a car...a kick ass computer...a life....a wardrobe...a hooker and some cocain...a bible....)
can you recommend a good character job combination?
in ffxi you have a main job and a subjob... and usually your limited to only 2 subjob choices to be effective...in a conventional sense..so out of mnk war blm whm rdm rng bst nin brd drk pld thf drg sam smn, only blm/whm or blm/rdm was effective... whm/blm or whm/smn was only effective... war/nin was a must usually with war/thf occasionaly... mnk/war or mnk/thf or mnk/nin ect ect ect.... some combinations just did not work at all... like...
thf/blm or rng/whm or whm/war... (though i pulled the whm/nin on an elvaan for about 10 levels...it was pretty funny..but extremely hard to balance...and not usable at higher levels at all...) or rdm/bst ect ect ect
are the jobs balanced? can you use any 2 jobs with each other and through skill reach a reasonable effectiveness in combat? (if you were a warrior/blackmage in ffxi you wouldn't be able to party at all let alone even have a chance to be affective... (no one would even ask you)
also what jobs are on the.. "dont bother" list... such as the infamous Dragoon in FFXI? (drg just wasnt good at anything...at all...so damn sad and everyone knew it except like 5 people who were just in denial because they spent a year leveling it...)
thnx~ >.>
