Anandtech Fantasy Football League Draft complete - which team do you think is the best?

None of the picks really stands out as being "great". I think I got great value with Muhammad and Barlow, but I don't see ny big steals. Lots of awful picks though.

I agree...GiantLoveDocs looks like the team to beat. The Severe Thunderstorms look good too. Hopefully McCaff will bounce back.

PinkTorpedoes, don't toot your horn too much, Muhammad is on a crap offense, the D can simply shut him down because they know he has talent. Hakim is useless, he just doesn't get involved in the offense enough to warrant starting him. Also Bledsoe is good but I don't see him blowing up. To me, I think I got you beat at every starting position spot except RB. I think Green ~ Alexander is a wash, and I think Davis will produce less in Spurrier's pass-oriented offense. I know picking Taylor was a risk, but I also have Hearst, and another starter Jones, behind him. I am prepared for one of my RBs to go down, but I don't think they'll both go down at the same time.

GiantLoveDoc is winning the vote?

Terrel Owens is a god, but he is the only money player on the team. His RB's are both injury prone has beens which means he wont have them, all season. Not a winner

Smelly Raptor gets my vote, but he needs to look on the free agent market for a wayne chrebet replacement

Muhammad was on a crap offense 2 years ago and still put up 102 catches. I didn't say he was a stud, I said he was value. I don't see McNabb blowing anything up, with no receivers and no running game and in this scoring system I wouldn't have taken him 2nd. Davis not producing due to the pass is probably a myth, Spurrier's rusher's at Florida still got some serious yardage. Hakim could be useless, but somebody has to score for the Lions. My basic feeling is that Taylor will get hurt, Barlow will take Hearst's job, and T. Jones will do what he's done the last 2 years-nothing.

I actually am not too down on Hakim. The Lions were the 7th best passing team last year, and that was with a broken down Batch and Mike McNobody throwing the ball. Harrington will be starting well before Halloween, and Hakim is a good fit because he can take those safe little short passes and break them for big plays(especially at home on the turf). I can see him becoming a workable 3rd or 4th WR.

What? You're calling Warrick Dunn an injury prone has been? I've watched this guy play in TB for the last few years and he's solid, the guy just bounces off people and keeps on running, literally...

True, if you are comparing brad johnson to all the other qb's he might not seem all that good but I think you'll all be in for a surprise...
Terrell Davis, he's been a stud from birth.. Injury prone or not he's still gonna put up numbers on you...
Frank Wychek - Stud... besides, i've got Kyle brady backing him up...
Gramatica - Stud... just hopefully he'll keep the celebration jumps to a minimum...
McCardell - TB is gonna make him into a stud... esp alongside Keyshawn...
and the Washington D -- Man, they're just going to be DIRTY... aka... hella good....

just my 2cents though

Dunn has never had to carry the load by himself. And as soon as they sign Duckett his value drops even more. Davis has only played 17 games since 1998, so relying on him to do anything is beyond risky. Owens is a top 3 WR, but I'm still scratching my head over why he went ahead of Harrison. Harrison is a rock without any of Owens' baggage, and can produce no matter who else is around him.

As for the Skins, I like their D. Lots of good playmakers there, which is what you want.

I would vote for Bashers, Warner is best quarterback hands down, Janikowski best kicker, Miami best defense. Any production from RB's will be icing on the cake.

Tony

Janikowski best kicker

You're kidding right? I don't know if I'd put him in the top 5 even. The best kicker is probably Elam, although he is still holding out.

Kickers and defenses don't mean crap. I guarantee there's kickers on waivers right now who will finish in the top 10. The spread last year between the top kicker and 20th kicker was 29 points. IOW, about 3 quarters work for Marshall Faulk.

Normally I would say whoever has Marshall Faulk is the winner (he has single-handedly won our FFL league the last 3 years), but unfortunately with Kordell at the helm and the rest of that roster, that's just too much for Marshall to carry. I voted for the Terrapins. Nothing flashy, but solid all around. McNabb is a good pick for QB. The T-storms would be a close second pick, but it would depend on the value of RBs in the league scoring. Great QB and great receiving core, very iffy backfield.

Janikowski is definetely the best Polish kicker to ever get arrested for possession of the date rape drug.

I'll go against the grain and say San Jose Cougars have a shot. They are absolutely loaded at WR/TE and I love Jeff Garcia. His rbs couldn't bust through a swiss cheese d-line butthe rest of his line up should keep him fairly consistent.

Remember, the team that looks best on paper often finishes below expectations. Should be a fun league tho. Good luck to all.

No TEs or Ks should be considered studs. McCardell is gonna suck cuz TB sucks dick.
