ThE ChIBoY'S
Faulk makes anyone competitive, but the rest of the roster is a rather baffling selection of players.
Prediction: 4-10

Bashers
Not bad, but very thin at RB which is never good. Neither Henry nor Taylor impresses me meuch.
Prediction: 6-8

Pink Torpedoes(me)
Great RB group, and I feel Bledsoe is in for a big year. But I banked too heavily on sleeper WRs. If a few of them pan out, I'll be in great shape.
Prediction: 9-5

Severe Thunderstorms
Passing on Green, Williams, and Culpepper will be fatal. McAllister is a huge ?, and Lewis was taken about 5 rounds too early
Prediction: 5-9

Maryland Terrapins
Very good, but neither Hearst nor Taylor will last the season. McNabb went too high based on this league's scoring.
Prediction: 8-6

Niners
Great draft, assuming Brooks plays and plays well. Glenn could be a problem too, as he's already injured. Will need these 2 to produce.
Prediction: 10-4

Rabid Rodents
Serious problems at RB, and no impact WRs except for maybe Mason. James won't get the work he did before, and Smith is just a stiff.
Prediction: 7-7

GiantLoveDoc
Nothing at RB and took the 3rd best WR with his #1 pick. This could get ugly.
Prediction: 3-11

San Jose Cougars
Set at QB and WR, but RBs are a disaster. If Jimmy Smith holds out, it's going to be a long year.
Prediction: 4-10

SmellyRaptor
Solid all the way through, but nothing spectacular after round 2. Little sleeper potential.
Prediction: 7-7

Ne0 Ramballaz
I like Moss at #11, but Vick is a real gamble. A lot needs to happen, but could be strong if it does.
Prediction: 8-6

Westwood Winners
I'm not big on Holmes, but this was a good draft. No obvious weak spots and some good upside.
Prediction: 9-5

little bits
Gambles everywhere, but if they pan out this will be a good team. If they don't, it's lights out.
Prediction: 7-7

Favorites: I predict that myself, Niners, and Maryland will be the top teams.

I'll make you eat those words about the Rodents. ;)

Defensively I didn't have much to choose from, basically I got a good late season defense (when McCrary and Boulaware make it back to form) backed up by a good all-around defense, New England. Unfortunately its hard to bank on N.E. when everyone has a target painted on them and they didn't exactly have an awesome off-season. Pride should help them perform in the early season. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I got the QB that can rack up points with TDs, completions, and yardage. He wont have alot of 300 yard games, true, but he consistently gets in the high 200-yard range. Should have probably grabbed SF's starter, Jeff Garcia, but Favre has always got a high percentage of completions. Alot of analysts think SF will have the biggest year but I think not. Garcia will be better than say, Bledsoe, but not better than Favre. ;)

Nothing wrong with the runningbacks stable. James and Smith are studs, albiet both coming off knee surgeries. Trung Candidate is a stud, too, and did extremely well when Faulk went down. I think Faulk will go down again and then all of StL's base is mine....

My recievers are all multiple threats. All of them run both long and short routes well, giving me a good chance at points for total yardage and not just the occassional TD. Rice was huge last season because nobody gave him respect until it was too late. This year they will respect him more, but he's Jerry "Plays years younger than his actual Age" Rice. Mason is the main special teams player for Tennessee, which is a big plus. Pathon had a great early season in 2001 with the starter out, but with the #1 WR back for Indy he needs to reassert his position for 2002. I think he will. I screwed up with Graham, didn't know he was released.

My kicker is solid.

My tight end is solid.

My backups are solid.

I'll be better than .500 this season.

Don't hold your breath. I think you've as many stretches as anyone. The Niners are solid at QB and RB but have all Dr. Jeckyl-Mr. Hyde types in WR and backups. Maryland is well-rounded and will have alot of production out of the backups. Can his starters stay healthy? Maybe, maybe not.

The only starter with a health issue is Taylor. Yeah, he'll probably punk out on me but I also have Hearst. I don't care what you say about McNabb, he passes for TDs and runs for TDs, and he's great - if I didn't take him where I did I probably wouldn't have gotten a top tier QB in the draft. And Pink Torpedoes, I think your WR are subpar. Also don't sleep on Dominic Rhodes, I got injured starters, but I also have able backups.

I'd have taken Garcia, and even Culpepper, too instead of James. I just don't see him putting up first round numbers coming off November ACL surgery. His backup is quite capapble so they won't rush him(assuming Rhodes is available), and the risk of re-injury is high(Terrell Davis/Jamal Anderson) especially since the Colts play on turf. As for Lamar smith, well, I think you might get 800-900 yards and 4 TDs.

Overall I'm not as happy with my team as I should be, things didn't break well so I reached too many times. But I've learned one thing-being conservative doesn't win crap.

How did you guys draft? In the FF league I joined here it's one of those auto draft deals where you have to rate the players by order of preference and just wait to see who you get....

Aaron Brooks is playing for a new contract this year so he will have a very big year!!!!

Terry Glenn only hyperextended his knee he was gonna go back for the 2nd practice
but the team held him back he will be OK with Farve throwing to him

if Eric Moulds could get 94 rec in 2000 with Doug Flutie throwing the ball and 67 with Rob Johnson throwing the ball im sure he will catch a few from Bledsoe

yes my RBs are fine :)

I really like Aaron Brooks. I have him as my 4th choice for QB after Warner, Garcia, & Manning.

(Sorry I know I'm not in your league but am jonesing for FF talk)

Aaron Brooks still scares me a little. I'm not sure I'd be bitching about my contract if I tossed 13 INTs in the final 4 games last year. The Saints offense has a few too many variables IMO to make Brooks a lock. Still, I was very temped in the 3rd to take him but went with George(who has 5 years of fantasy studliness under his belt).

I had Bledsoe for backup last year and he let me down in Favre's bye weeks.

Well I'm going to assume that was because he didn't play last year. There was that collapsed lung and a guy named Tom Brady...

Are you sure you're thinking of Bledsoe? He was knocked out of the second game and didn't play again in the regular season.

He actually didn't get a concussion, it was a sheared vessel in the lung that caused internal bleeding. I don't know if you recall the hit, but it was absolutely brutal. By the time he healed Brady was doing so well that it would have been stupid to switch back.

Anyway I like Bledsoe, but will likely start Green in the first week or 2. Bledsoe has everything he didn't in NE the last few years, like an offensive line, a running game, and receivers. Even with absolutely no talent around him in 1999 and 2000, he put up 7200 yards and 36 TDs. It was a gamble, but the QBs were going fast and I didn't think he'd last.

Your stable of recievers should be the bigger concern. All in all you're dependent on runningbacks which isn't likely to make up for weak WRs, K, and TE. I hate to say it but even Sherri (little bits) is stacked in comparison. :D

Weak TE? Franks led all TEs last year with 9 TDs. And kickers and D mean nothing. Last year's 1-20 spread between kickers was 29 points, which is totally meaningless when you're looking at an overall score in the 1500 range. If you drafted one before round 10 it was a mistake. Same with D. Trying to predict which will be at the top is pointless, so you might as well wait until the later rounds.

My WRs are a sore spot, but look at the group of chumps I had last year in these 2 leagues:

League 1 (In this one I traded very late for Warner)
League 2

I still won both, because I was loaded at RB. And that's what matters most in FF.

And we still have to wait 6 weeks before seeing who's good and who's running their mouth. :(

Look at it this way- last year the top 2 WRs, Owens and Harrison, failed to break 10 points 7 times each. That only happened once to Faulk, and twice each to Green and Alexander.

Great RBs always get their touches, but great WR have a much better chance of being invisible.
