Hello all,
I know there is already a league, but I couldn't join that one so I decided to create another one myself.
Expert players and newbies are both welcome but all I ask is that you remain active for the whole season.
I'm a 3 year veteran of the fantasy game so I consider myself to have decent knowledge of how it works.

The link to sign up is here.

[*]League ID is 142598
[*]League password is at

Default Yahoo! Roster Size, Player Positions, and statistic categories are being used, you can find that info here.

The draft is live and is tentatively set for Sunday March 31st at 6:30pm Pacific time. This was the only weekend date left and we would only miss one day's worth of games. Of course, the time can be changed so let me know what time would be better for you. There are a total of 20 teams so make sure you join quick!
Hope to see ya there. 😎

i'm in! is it possible to change from a Rotisserie league to a head to head. i just think it is better. but i don't know if you can change that now anyway. just a thought.

what's the diff between rot and head to head? btw, i'm already in the other league, but if you need a player... 😉

holy crap.. check out the buzz on sean burroughs... buzz score of 23677! jesus. score

i'm pretty sure rot is you are playing against everyone in total points. right? i am in a league already too...just started a new nick to join this one...i would rather be in with people i know and i missed out on the first league. 😀

How exactly does a live draft work?

How do you know who each person drafted and who's available?

I might get in on this

oh i see, so head to head is like where you simulate an actual season? i'd join too, but i don't want to crowd out people that didn't even get in on the first one.

Hey welcome aboard. 🙂

You can find the difference between rot and hth: here and here.

As far as changing it to head to head, that's still possible. If enough people would rather have hth, I'll change it.

Joyride, you can read about the live draft here.

It's a java applet and you will be able to see which players are available as well has who has taken whom.

hmmm i was confused. i thought rot was a little different....i'm fine with that system.

While I enjoyed our league last year (who won anyway?), 20 teams were too many, and it was quite frustrating to have 7 guys out by mid-May. I'll have to think about it.

20 teams may be a lot, but I think it adds to the fun of it because it's virtually impossible to be "stacked" at every position. Sleeper draft picks and the right free agent moves throughout the course of the season will determine the winner.

I agree with you about the inactive managers, so all I ask is that everyone remains active.

I'm in.

I skipped last year so I'm a little behind in the players...try not to kick my arse too bad! 😉

i would do it if we didn't know that the red sox were going to win their divison, league, and the world series. maybe i will play in a few years when the sox aren't as strong.

😉

Just joined; think you could post another thread a few hours before the draft? I'm in some other leagues and I don't wanna forget 🙂

Wooohoooo!!

I missed the first draft when this came up a while back, but now I'm in baby.

Oh, and I am ranked #1 too... (of course so is everybody else, but it's still nice)

I'm thinking of changing the roster numbers around so that it would be similar to the way ESPN's fantasy game works (which you have to pay for by the way). We would have 13 batting spots which would consist of C, 1b, 2b, SS, 3b, 5 x OF, MI (2b or SS), CI (1b or 3b) and UTIL, and 9 pitching spots (either SP or RP). Maximum roster size would be increased to 25, and I would limit the league to 12 teams. I thought it would be interesting because I've never played in a league configured like that before. Sound good?

I would add the Pitching stat category for innings pitched which would prevent a team from loading up on relief pitchers/closers to dominate the Sv, ERA, and WHIP.

Virtually impossible?! I had guys like Carl Pavano, Bob Wickman and Shane Spencer on my starting roster!
I think 12-16 teams is plenty personally. I say we give an inactive team 2 weeks of inactivity (without prior notice), and then replace them. It's just real crap when a team just sits there won't respond to trade offers, won't fill in for injuries ect.

I've limited the number of teams to 12 now. However, as far as replacing inactive teams, Yahoo doesn't give me the power to kick teams out of the league after the draft has occured. I don't see why I would be allowed to do this anyway, imagine kicking out the #1 team with 2 weeks left in the season. 😉

I have joined. 1 1/2 year vet at fantasy sports. Yahoo is the only place to go for Fantasy Sports. 😀

I say, stick with rotisserie. Here are some of the position/stat categories that I suggest we use. I used these position/stat categories last season (I was the commish) and it worked out well.

Starting Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, P, P, P, P, DL, DL, DL, DL, DL

Statistical Categories (Batters): Runs
Hits
Home Runs
Runs Batted In
Stolen Bases
Strikeouts
Fielding Percentage
Batting Average
On-base Percentage
Slugging Percentage

Statistical Categories (Pitchers): Wins
Complete Games
Shutouts
Saves
Earned Runs
Home Runs
Strikeouts
Holds
Earned Run Average
(Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched

All those categories present more of a challenge and it's more fun to play with more statistical categories other than the common Homerun, Run, Stolen Base, AVG, etc categories.
