Anandtech Articles, weird 'links'

Hey yo,

lately i have paid attention to the links within the articles on anandtech. For example on the KT600 article today, words with the article, such as-

Profits
products
services
system

are highlighted as links. But if you put the mouse over the links , it appears to be a spam link, ie FREE 30 DAY TRIAL, FREE WEB HOSTING. Which have nothing to do with the article itself. just random links to a 3rd party site.

ANyone else notice this, and why are there?

I'm pretty sure they're just adds that help pay the site's costs, like pop ups or banners. I don't mind them too much since they're colored differently than the real links in the articles (i.e. a link to a previous review)

I hate them, Anandtech is going downhill in terms of slipping in ads everywhere. I mean, dont they get paid enough to try out all this hardware?

Either someone's getting greedy or getting really poor... :disgust:

In the wake of the DOTBOMB era it has become far more difficult for a site to generate revenue. If you are not a subscriber then you contribute nothing to this site financially beyond being a traffic stat for attracting the very sponsors you do not wish to be exposed to 😉 Btw, this belongs in forum issues not tech support

It was in the 'anandtech articles' already but the thread disappeared.
