it is a long shot but worth a try for the 20 seconds it takes 😀

Wait do you need help getting it to run on XP?
I didn't like DK2 as much as DK1, that game was truly evil......

There's a workaround to getting DK2 (didn't really enjoy the game that much) to work in XP fyi. Even got the D3D version oof DK1 working. Look around on the net.

man ive looked around and the only fix ive found is to turn off the sound and i am not into playing it w/o hearing the minions scamper hehe

tried compat mode, tried lowering sound level, tried using version 1.0 and 1.7 and 1.7 w/bonus packs...

I'm pretty sure that in the entire history of the world, not a thing has changed due to an online petition.

You can always check ntcompatible.com... they usually have info on how to get a game running on XP if it isn't working, lots of info for older games too.

I have a feeling that the ATOT Effect will have very little affect on the outcome of this petition.

Didn't Disney release the anime Princess Mononoke with both the original Japanese track and the translated English one as a result of an online petition?

BTW DK2 was cool.

If DVD fans have learned anything since the format arrived in 1997, it's that DVD releases can cleanse all sins ? directors can restore footage lost via studio-imposed cuts, and unrated versions of films can appear as well. But for Princess Mononoke the battle continued. When it was released on VHS, it again was only available in the dubbed version. And again, Anime fans felt burned. When the DVD was announced without the Japanese language track, fans protested and sent Miramax a petition, which could have arrived at the Mouse House stillborn. Disney/Miramax already does a pretty poor job of releasing imported films of Anime and Hong Kong action (every Jet Li and Jackie Chan film released by them has been dubbed, and many edited to near incoherence). But ? surprisingly, shockingly even ? the studio listened to their consumers, and the original Japanese language track was added (in DD 5.1, no less) with a literal Japanese translation, alongside the English dub track.

From here.

Doesn't say anything about it being an online one.....but I'm betting it was. In this case, it worked because the ONE segment of consumers that Disney relied on to actually make this thing sell worth a damn, via word-of-mouth, hated what they released, and told them so.

IF you are having sound problems in DK2 turn down the sound acceleration in dxdiag. Every time I have tried to play DK2 in XP the sound is always garbbled until I do that, even with the latest patch.

 Online petitions are a way to collect email addresses for SPAM; that and to make people think they're being proactive.

Petition to make Bullfrog release DK3? 😕

I don't see how this petition is rational. What stage in development are they in for DK3? Are they done with it and just holding out?
