The mods just didn't want people linking to their ebay ads. ebay however, is still one of the rather few internet startups that are still around, and are rather successful.

I think AnandTech made a deal with eb@y or something. It is possible to post the word out of a sentence but when writing it in a sentence it doesn't seem to work. As demonstrated:

eBay
e-bay
E-Bay

Yet if I were to write eb@y here, it wouldn't work.
