In all of the recent chipset articals here at Anandtech Henry Kuo keeps saying that Via is moving to give intel chips greater support then AMD chips. In a way that is true, however i belive that Via is actualy working the socket 370 platform to give there own upcoming socket 370 chips a home and the whole thing with this being to intels benifit is just coincedental because they share the same p6 bus and socket.

Does anyone else share this same opinion, or am i misinformed?

at first i wondered what you were talking about... then I remembered that cyrix3 thing.

I don't think even VIA is kidding themselves that it will ever happen.

Not that i would ever buy one, and possibly they may not be widly available in the USA, but Via has grown alot over the past year and i think they more then have the resources to make a low coast business solution fly in the asian market. I alway forget that there is more to the world then my own county and i tend to think in terms of products that are available in the U.S. rather then seeing the worldly picture. I recently read a little about the upcoming Via chip and from what via is saying about it, its not a long way off. But as i implied its not a solution most desktop users will flock to its a low end chip for a business enviroment.
