"Anand's Material is an Embarrassment to the Hardware Review Community."

Anandtech has I think for the most part has the best articles of any tech site. The only occasion I can say that I have been disappointed with Anandtech was with the recent KT266A roundup, but otherwise IMO, Anandtech is the best Computer Tech site, and the Fourms rock!! Helped me get started with PC Hardware a year ago. Van Smith, well that's his opinion.

<< Anand's coverage does kinda suck these days. The forums are great, and the new reseller ratings are very cool, but the hardware coverage is shallow and infrequent. I'm finding myself ready THG more and more these days... >>

I agree. I've found Tom's stuff to be far better in the past few months. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I agree that the Reviews have slowed down to a crawl compared to 3 years ago, I can goto the main page once a month a be caught up in realtively quick but to say the website sucks that is going to far.

Might as well add my 2 cents:

There's a reason Anadtech's got so many members, and its not 'cause he's doing a bad job...

Jealousy is such an ugly thing

<< AnandTech is all I need to read. I treat other sites for the sake of comparison against Anand's articles. 🙂 >>

While I love Anandtech, there are better review sites out there. Digit-life.com being one (probably only). Check out their review of the Geforce4 launch. Its awe-inspiring the lengths these people went through to make that review.

That said, who were we talking about again?

It's great to hear a guy I've heard so little about is trying to draw attention to himself by blasting one of the greatest hardware websites I've ever come across.

Anand & Co. -- keep up the good work 🙂

Have a nice day 🙂

Here's what he has written in his "links" section for Anandtech and Toms Hardware:

Originally, Anand offered me a job about an hour or two before Tom did. I often wonder what life would have been like if I had gone to AnandTech instead of to THG. Many times I have issues with Anand's content, but I think he he has tried to maintain his integrity. UPDATED: The quality and objectivity of AnandTech has degraded to such a point that I am disabling this link.

Tom's Hardware Guide -- My old haunt, a large number of my articles are there. UPDATED: The quality and objectivity of Tom's Hardware has degraded to such a point that I am disabling this link. I will compile a list of direct links to my articles there.

I can only echo the common opinion so far and add the fact that this thread has given him much undeserved attention.

Obviously I love these forums. But I'm certain that the number of reviews on the main AnandTech page has slowed to a crawl relative to a couple of years ago. Maybe its the nature of the beast. Once all the motherboards were held to a high standard on board's like AnandTech, they all started to be real similar to one another, and thus less review-worthy. Maybe.

Years ago AnandTech had like a new article every day, and one or three motherboards each week. In a lot of ways, I use these forums for a source of hardware and software reviews.

Please read the thread again. If you don't know who Van Smith, Tom Pabst, or Johan De Gelas are, then don't post in this thread please. 🙂

Had you waited to buy a GF3Ti until you read Anand's shootout, it would have been time for a GF4.

bwahahahahaha thanks for the laugh... he said he's deactivating the links to Anandtech and Toms hardware.. bwahahahahahahhaha i almost cried..whats the deal with the native american btw? 😕😛

Van Smith worked for THG (Toms Hardware Guide, run by Dr. Tom Pabst) back in 1999/2000

oh yeah! i remember him now... heheh 😛 vanshardware.com eh? hehe...

EDIT: his website layout sucks moose balls.

<< Cheese cracker with too much peanut butter. >>

Yeah, lol. That probably actually is what he's suffering from. 😉
