Once more smilies are staying the old ones were entirely to large and messy looking.

Viewcounter is working fine. Remember it will queue your update in with at least 500 others so it won't look accurate if you just keep hitting refresh.

Zuni, when editing your profile and selecting the timezone what kind of order are those time zones in. They seem to be listed randomly very hard to find the correct one.

They are listed in the correct order, if there is one. There is no way to order it in any other way :) you just have to spend the 30 seconds and find the one you want :).

It isn't that difficult :)

<< Nah, the things showing up as viewed are your end nothing was changed in the code for that at all. >>

Well I don't know what to tell you... it seems pretty obvious that some code relating to that WAS changed. Every topic in every forum shows as it has been read. And since I'm not the only one...

What kind of order is
GMT +10

GMT +5

Also, on the today page I tried to unsubscribe to a thread and when the creen refreshed it said I was still subscribed to it.
On the today page why can't I choose the specific forum I want to goto. The older version had this same problem on the search results page. Why can't I select a specific forum to jump to on every page?

Ummm i discovered a few problems/glitches:

1) I found that when you go into your history of private messages (which i like), you cant respond from there. Which means if you had something to say later, you would have to go find a thread which the person has posted in, and redo the process. (i could be wrong about this i just woke up :) )

2) All my links are also viewed as others have replied, so i think someone tampered with the code.

3) It seems to run alot slower than the old forums.

4) Agreed that the time thing is all weird... looked at it for a few minutes and couldnt figure out heads or tails of the order...

All in all, it looks nice and i hope these things can get fixed! THX!

[edit] Also i think the 'home' button should say 'forum'. It kinda implys that its going back to anantech.cominstead of the forums board. (nice linkage)

<< Timezones ordered by description >>

Alphabetical?
Alaska
Kuwait, Riyadh
Abu Dhabi, Muscat
Baghdad
Atlantic Time (Canada)
Darwin
Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney

Whatever, it should be by time.

Is there any way to enable an option to show old vs. new, or possibly resizing the old ones to fit the text? The cartoon smileys added a lot of character to these forums, and they also helped make the forums friendlier (as opposed to the more common smileys we have now, just like every other UBB and vB board out there).

Just my 2 cents :)

Did the state/province thing change? It said I'm in Alberta but I could have swore that I had it set to Colorado in the older version. No big deal to change though. Also it says state/province yet the provinces are listed first. Also Just noticed that it had my country listed as US state Alberta shouldn't you have some checking so that (US = states) and (canada = province) and (not US and not canada = other).

Also I don't think that the federated states of micronesia, guam, kwajalein, puerto rico, U.S. virgin islands are a state or province. All except for kwajalein are listed under country.

Maybe I'm just being picky but I get picked on like this at work so it's fun to be able to do it to someone else.

Are you tweaking the "Viewed" thread counts or did it kill the server? ;)

BTW: Nice job so far!

States & Provinces were taken from some reliable sources, they are fine.

The old version did not have states or provinces.

Disgust should be working now :disgust:

View counts is gone its just entirely too db intensive. Smaller forums can use it fine but not this one.

I think I'm going to cry. :(

What sort of complaints were there about the old ones?

Zuni,
Thanks for at least making the sad smilie blue again. It helps to convey the emotion. Plus it give us more colors to play with when doing smilie graphics. ;) Hehe.

Also, yep, went back into PM, and DOH! There's a HISTORY button, so all was not lost. Thanks, and I like the PM changes, It keeps the messages area clean, plus I can now see what I replied, even though they aren't grouped. :) Progress, if not Perfection. :D

Thanks again for all your hard work! :D

Looking pretty good! Maybe a few quirks to get used to, but I'll live with it.

Great job!

The search box from the threads page is a very nice touch. Hopefully, it will get a lot of use! :p

After voting in a poll, I clicked the return to thread button and was sent to the forum main page.

Also, as reported by others, all threads appear in dark blue (as in I have already viewed them).

I think you better check your source for states and countries.
