a forum with over 30,000 members is a vast, untouched resource at our very fingertips. Method is key. Dennil is doing it EVER SO RIGHT!

The point is that the AGN forum does NOT have their own team so I didn't see any reason for the mod to get funny about it ,I was told by someone else on our team that the AGN site people don't like Anand for some reason ,I'm guessing thats why.

Also I would like to add that I would NOT knowingly recruite from a forum that has a Team already ,that would obviously be a bad move .I still think that posting at other forums is a good way to get new recruites as long as some basic rules are followed & some common sense is used.

I don't see why you would get so annoyed about a recruiting thread in a forum with no team ,whats the big deal? if your not interested ,then just ignore it.

I was well aware that some people might flame me but I certainly didn't expect that mod to kick off at AGN :Q,oh well it's a small risk to take for a worthwhile effort.
BTW in Toms forum I did get a few flames but I managed to rebut all there comments & the idiots didn't return ,but quite a few SETI people popped up in that thread from various teams

I agree ,its an untapped resource ,I'm gonna try again at AGN on a more subtle level ,they still don't have a team there yet & it's been some months.Sharkeys forum doesn't have a team either

Because they're unsolicited advertisements. You're right, it isn't really a big deal, but spam is annoying to many people nonetheless. It would annoy me just because of the principle of the thing. When I get email from a spamster, it doesn't bring down my computer, and it doesn't cause me any harm. But it still irritates the hell out of me. :|

Why do you think AGN and Tom's are both flaming you? They are not idiots. You are intruding on their turf for our gain, and their reactions are understandable even if some of the responses are a bit harsh. In fact, you already knew that you would get flamed, so you know where I'm coming from.

though I can't say that I would (if you asked now and I didn't know what TA was, or what rc5 or Seti@home was, I'd like to think I'd be interested!), because my opinion doesn't matter, because I am obviously biased.

I realise you can't read the AGN thread ,but you obviously didn't read the Toms thread ,they weren't flaming me for posting at 'there' forum but about SETI itself.You will see there are a handful of idiots there making ignorant comments about SETI ,after replying to each of these flamers they didn't return ,&amp; then the decent people there began to post making the thread quite a long 1.
A Similar thing was happening at AGN before the uptight mod deleted the post.
I was aware that some people would flame me about SETI ,little green men etc.etc. ,that didn't surprise me .
