The Wiki article basically says everything of importance. Genetically the Boss is half-Indian (father, IIRC) and half-Iranian (mother), but they're all Americans so it's certainly not an Indian company.

I still remember the feature interviewing him (60 minutes?) about him starting this site, while still in High School. They kept asking if he was making money on it and he kept saying "some" but not saying how much. (wise move) At the end they show him getting into a new BMW(?) and driving off for school. (I had already been to the site before the story, which made it even more interesting.)

It was all in America, but if I remember his wedding photos they looked pretty traditional in an Indian sense.

Overall, we have a mixed bag here, like you would find on any large online forum.
