I sent Anand an email during the first year he had his site up, offering to help with reviews or anything, and he still hasn't responded. This was swhen he did a review of a Pentium 233 MMX against a PPro, but didn't run a tweak (fastvid), so the MMX whupped the PPro in Quake. I thought it was a lame review because of that.

then you'd think he'd find some people who can write. the reviews on anandtech read like they were written by little children.

Its probably because he's busy. I've offered some help as well and because of my experience, I think it should be a matter of just being accepted rather than having the background neccessary for what I was offering. He's responded to a few e-mails, but about half of them. Then again, I've only sent 2 or 3 that I expected a reply to...
