Why the fuck is CNN analyzing tweets from this election. Since when was the interweb relevant to real life? Let alone a social networking website... I must be missing out on something big here.

Welcome to the new mainstream media.

People have been conditioned to expect treatment as though they're the center of the universe. Traditional news is objective and centered around external facts, though -- the viewer doesn't enter the picture. First step away from that was infotainment, and now the opinions of random idiots is the news.

they had a "serious" debate a few minutes on sarah palin.

I saw that....I just shook my head. Basically what I got from it was "Those people won because Sarah Palin." Or whatever, I don't care. I will probably not turn on a news channel again for a while.

The real question is why are you watching CNN?

Because, properly analyzed, the information you can gather from twitter can be insanely powerful.

Because they report the news better than anyone, actually.

There you go. Fox news was saying early on in the Colorado race that Tancredo had already won. In fact he got curb stomped by Hickenlooper. They were also saying that that one lady in Nevada had won, She lost.

As long as you mute half of it, you still get more info from it than fox. I was just trying to see who won anyway. I don't care much about the news.
