analogx proxy server and email

Has anyone gotten analogx proxy server to work with email on the clients behind the proxy.
I've tried everything I can think of and can't make it work.

Yeah I used it a long time ago. Under the "configure email alias" button in Analog you have first set your email information there (email address and pop3 server) Then on your client machine you set your email up the same as you would if you were connected direct accept for the server address you would put in the IP address of the proxy machine.

What OS are you using and also what ISP?

win 98 and NT4 and earthlink

I know I wasn't setting up the email program to goto the proxy address, but I was only putting the email address in the configure box. You say I should put the pop3 server in the email settings also?

could you give an example of your email connfiguration in the proxy server?

thanks

mcveigh,

You need to set the incoming pop3 and outgoing smtp addresses in the mail client to the IP address that analogx proxy is installed on.

If you are using a web browser on your client machine, you must've gotten it to work by putting the server as the proxy. Same as email clients, you will hafta go thru the server (ip addy).
Configure the out/incoming smtp addresses accordingly and should be good to go.
