analog vs dvi

I'm planning on getting a new video card and monitor soon. I think I'm going to get the ati all in wonder radeon. I don't play many games, but I do want to be able to record tv. I want to get a lcd monitor and was wondering if there is a big difference between analog and dvi image quality. I was looking at the kds rad5 and I think it only supports analog. Is it worth spending more to get one that had dvi? If anyone has monitor recommendations I would like to hear them.
