I posted this last year and have the same request again. Since the thread is so old, I cannot even edit or reply to it.

So I am looking for some suggestions for places to have dinner before the show this Sunday. Since it's a concert, I am worried about traffic so please suggest something relatively close to the venue. Last year we had King's Fish House which was great. Any other ideas for this year? Italian and Japanese would be something we both like. But anything might fly.

Here was last year's request:

Going to a concert at 8PM on Thursday (SUNDAY this year) of this week. Looking to get into Anaheim around 5 to leave time to eat. I am looking for recommendations from locals. I would prefer not to go to chain restaurant like BJ's, Chilis etc., though if necessarily, it's an option.

I don't want a place that we have to take the freeway to get to. The idea is that traffic is probably going to be really bad around that time (5-7) and we don't want to risk being late for the concert.

Cuisine - Most anything would work - Italian, Japanese would rank at the top. American is fine.

Price - $25 tops per person. Not looking for a fancy steakhouse but don't want to eat at a deli either.

Some recommendations of local favorites would be nice. Something that Anaheim is famous for.

By the way, The Pond is located at 2695 E Katella Ave.

Hope you guys can help me out. This is really important.

Haha, I was going to mention Kings Fish House. Great before going to Ducks games, especially in my Kings jersey, with all of my friends who are Kings fans.

Well, I might do King's again. But I was thinking about doing something different.

Bella Marri's

Ruffinos

never been there, but they were in my Entertainment book. Menus look good and the prices were about ~$12-15 for pasta

not sure about the dress code or reservations at those places.

Just thought of another great place to go: Tulsa Rib Company

It's near Katella, so after you're done, you can just take Katella down to the Pond.

Finger lickin good bbq here!

Is the "National Sports Grill & Bar" still there??? It used to be around the corner from Anaheim stadium on State College Bl.
That place is fun, sociable and has good eats, for sure!!!!

Also, I'll second the "Tulsa Rib Co.". I went there a few times as a kid back in the 80's and that is some time-tested, damn-good, finger-lickin' BBQ!!!!!!!!!

Is the Tulsa Rib Co. a "country" type place? Meaning, is it a place where hillbillies go in overalls? I don't have a problem with this, it's just that we are probably going to be dressed up a bit for the show and I am not sure I want to go to that type of joint.

Where is Bobby Dee's?

Nah, it's not hillbilly at all. It's a small place in a strip mall. Tables, booths, tv's in the corner where you can watch sports. Its a casual place and you won't be too overdressed unless you're wearing a tuxedo.

There's a Shabu Shabu place @ the Block in Orange (near where the 57 and 22 meet)

Buca is a good idea. Unfortuanately it's family style and has huge portions. I bet two people couldn't even finish their spaghetti.

Sex Smurf - I did not realize it was that close. I am going to look up a list of their restaurants.
