Argh, what I said about Levine. That guy should not be pitching in close games.

One opportunity left for them to pull it off. Top of the 9th left for the Giants and they'll have Aurilia, Kent, and Bonds up to try and do some damage. Just a one run ballgame (at least at the moment of this posting). :)

GO RANGERS!

Oh wait...whoops..
The worst part about Anaheim playing Oakland is that one of them has to lose which make battling for home field against the Yanks tough.
Anything is better then watching the Yanks win it all again. If this Angel's team and Oakland team were around earlier, I don't think the Yankees would have won as many championships.

Well, almost. Aurilia got robbed. :( Great catch just over the wall by Grissom to save the game.

Argh. I missed the game. Was Percival kept out since he's been workin so much the last few days? And even so, Levine is usually ok for relief earlier in the game, say 7th inning. I also wonder why they threw him in the 9th.

Oh yeah, DODGERS RULE!!

Percival was warming up in the top of the 9th, so he would have come in if the Angels had scored. He has been getting a lot of work recently, I think he pitched 6 times in the last 9 days before last night. The good thing is he should be somewhat rested now. They had already used Schoeneweis, Shields, and Donnelly, and Weber pitched the last 3 days, so Scioscia's hands were kind of tied.

Yeah Levine's fine earlier in the game or in blowouts, but otherwise he should be used as a last resort.

A's pitching Dominates again. The AL West race is great. I wouldn't be surprised if they needed a playoff game at the end to see who wins the Division

BTW, did you notice the there were still fans in the seats at Dodger Stadium after the 7th inning? That's almost as rare as a Blonde in LA that with matching Carpet and real Breasts.

good game...too bad the A's lost.

Koch really needs to use other pitches besides the fastball. after Salmon fouled off all those pitches he was bound to get the timing down. i would love to see these 2 teams going at it in the ALCS.

PS does anyone know if the wednesday game will be televised? on monday i could have sworn espn's oakland page said it will be on ESPN2, now it says none. oakland's official team page says ESPN.

i also read in the newspaper today that all the $1 tickets are sold out and they're expecting at least 50,000 for wednesday.

I went to the game tonight. Oakland was hitting deep balls all game long but just couldn't get a break.

Wow that was a great pitching duel. Mulder was on fire and looked pretty unhittable at times. Washburn did very well too and got a lot of good flyouts. And neither pitched a walk the entire game.

Hoping Zito can go out there and do the same today. :D

It doesn't really matter the Cards are going to win it all anyway, although I would like to see an oakland and cardinals series that would be awesome!!!

Zito win his league leading 22 game as the A's defeat the Angels 7-4. What a race. This should prepare both teams well for the Playoffs.

BTW, the Giants beat the Scumbucket Dodgers to open a 2 game lead in the NL Wild Card Race.

The best part about the AL West race is that now I can laugh at all the sniveling bandwagon Mariner fans here in Portland. Go A's!!!

At least the Mariners won?t embarrass themselves in the Playoffs like they did last year.

A's win again 5-3 winning the series match up insuring them the title if the race ends up in a tie. As of today they are 1 game ahead of the Angels who are 50 games ahead of the Mariners in the Wild Card Race (might as well be 50 the way the Mariners play)
