Might be so, however I'd still buy PC3200 simply b/c you never know what system you're ultimately going to put the RAM into down the road, and in A LOT of cases from what I'm seeing quality PC3200 is going for a few bucks cheaper then it's PC2700 equivalent by the same maker. So if you can snag it for cheaper, might as well get it.

I've been trying to get this CPU/mobo deal since I first found out about it a week or two ago, but every time I go they say it's not available, but I periodically see people saying they just bought it, it's so frustrating I SERIOUSLY need to upgrade my current system (AMD Tbird 800MHz @ 1000+MHz)

I was thinking the same thing about the memory but had no idea what price difference it actually was. I'll go PC3200 because it certainly can't hurt.

It said unavailable when we all ordered it as well. It still lets you order the bundle. Now that I've ordered it, the order tracking page just says, "Partial Backorder." I'm just crossing my fingers hoping that they get more next week like they've indicated.

Hey is it still on? When I go to the link, it says $99, when I am about to submit order it says 169.00??

Just checked on my order and both items are still on back order.

Not posted on page one anymore so I guess if you havent gotten in on it yet it is too late.

They do have on page 5 a combo with a BARE 2600+ and a Gigabyte 7VT600-RZ for $99.00 but that sayd "Product Currently Unavailabe" also.

Think our present deal is better but anyone have any experience with this MB? VIA chipset so doesnt interest me.

I just checked my order from last week and it now says, "In Process." It was listed as partial backorder earlier this morning.

Hopefully this means they got some more and are getting them ready to ship them out.

Mine now also says "In Process" for BOTH items!

Looks like all that ordered may get this!!!

Anybody want to trade the AN-35 Ultra board for a Shuttle MN-31N or L? 😀

Got mine last week. Replaced Abit KG7-R/ 2100+ w/ this combo. Swapped out w/o losing any data...Did an XP Repair. Need to upgrade 1GB Crucial PC2100 RAM to PC3200.

Cooling w/ a SLK 800U & a quiet low speed Panaflow. Not planning to OC...Quiet computing is my thing.

Nice combo, but not a huge improvement, speedwise. I'm planning to get a 3200+ when they're under $100.

Mine says "Order Fullfilled" but when you click on the order to get the tracking, it still says "In Process" on all the items.

Wish I could get a tracking number. Holding off buying some memory until I know for sure I'm getting it.

Any links on OC of this particular 2700 (I guess Tbred B) ? I saw this one of the 2400+
here

EDIT: Abridged plagarism for the lazy:

There is a hard mod to unlock the multipliers.

At the stock multiplier, got 15x155 = 2.32 GHz

Highest with a high FSB/low multi, got 10.5 x 210 = 2205 MHz, with VCore = 1.85, and VDimm = 2.8.

"just above stock 2700 at 2.17 GHz"
Low temps from SLK800 + 32 CFM fan

"For the retail price of $199 that was paid for this chip, you can't go wrong. Overclocking to over XP 2800 speeds for under $200 is awesome." 😀

Finally got a tracking number last night and the board and chip arrived this morning. Thanks OP for a good deal. I also picked up a good printer for cheap while looking at this deal. Took care of all my needs for the time being.

I'm hoping my memory shows up Friday so I can build this thing over the weekend.

royal d, What memory did you get? where?

I ended up getting the Kingston memory deal for 2 sticks of 512. I would have gotten them at Newegg but they charge tax in TN bringing the total to the same at Kingston. So, I went with Kingston in hopes I actually mail the rebate form.

From what I can tell, PC3200 was overkill, but it's roughly the same price and I might need it down the road. Who knows, maybe I'll get a good deal on a Barton 400 FSB chip later this year.

I'm impressed!! Yesterday I saw my order "In Process". When I got home, I saw this box sitting right in front of our door. I got what I ordered!

Thanks OP for the deal!

Got mine today!!!!!

Really happy with this deal.

Thanks for posting the link for Tsunami982, Keltorski. 😀
