Hello,

I have an AN35N-Ultra with a AXP1700b, and Micron PC3700 RAM.

The system was running the following (Prime Stable for 8 Hours):

FSB/Mult/CPU Speed: 211mhz/9.5/2010mhz
Mem timings: 5, 2, 2, 2.5
Agressive CPU Interface

Now my system won't even post at those speeds. It brings up the "System is Running in Safe Mode"

The Highest it will go is 200x9.5, not that that is a problem, but i just can't under stand the sudden change.

The only new thing in my system is a CD Burner I installed. (My DVD Burner is in the shop, so I threw an old CD-RW Drive in)

Anyone know what's goin on?

Thanks,
newParadime

my guess would be that your memory timings look a little too tight @ 211 FSB and really isn't that stable. try relaxing the timings bit and see if that helps.

It could be from the power supply. What kind of power supply are you using? Try disconnect the new cd writer.

I have an Allied 350w PSU.

However, the CD Burner is replacing my DVD Burner while it is being repaired, so i don't think it's my power,
tho i did just notice that my 5v rail was at 4.08v, which is really low.

I mite steal my borthers 420w Antec and see if it does any better.

Hello,

I checked my 5v rail in BIOS, and it said that it was at 4.97v

My vCore is steady as well.

My Athlon XP 2500 Mobile came in yesterday, it runs Prime95 stable at 200x12.
It won't post at anything faster than that though.

Any help, find it odd that the fastest Post speed is prime stable. (i.e. my AXP1700 would post at 2.25ghz, but was only primstable at 2.0ghz)

Thanks,

Yeah i got the voltage at 1.875v.

2400mhz prime stable (200x12)

Im tring 2420mhz (210x11.5) tonight.

Another weird thin is that i can get the chip to post at 2520mhz (210x12) but it wont post at 2500 mhz (200x12.5)

Hopefully when i get my DFI Ultra Infinity Board, this problem will go away.

The BOard shoudnt be a problem tho, the Shuttle AN35/n was sposta ba god OverCloker board.

I hope i have better luck soon (Not complainin' tho .4ghz Barton is better than 2.0ghx tBredB),
