I know some people are upset about the release date and want it here sooner, but really, I say take as long as you need to make an amazing game.

After reading those new previews, it looks like Rockstar really listened to the critics and consumers and changed a lot of things including the antiquated shooting/fighting system.

Damn, I'm really looking forward to this.

Ya man, I would be willing to wait another year if that meant the release of a solid 5 star game which I will play for many years to come as opposed to some piece of shit that disappoints me after a few days due to pressuring the release.

I was under the impression that Rockstar did the demos, and IGN and friends did NOT play it directly.

Ya, that's basically what they said in passing during the preview. But after reading through the preview, I'm 100% more excited for this game. I've always loved the GTA games in the past, but GTA4 has always seemed like a pipe dream to me until reading this info, which really gives us a start on how the game will play.

I'm loving that they have not only copied the cover mechanic from Gears/Vegas/Uncharted, but they also copied the shooting mechanics from Crackdown where you can target individual body parts. Hopefully they go beyond Crackdown and actually make a few missions where you have to injure somebody but not kill them. The targeting system in Crackdown was very well implemented in regards to control, but there never was a need to shoot weapons out of people's hands when the same amount of bullets to the chest would kill them, and shooting them in the legs only knocked them down for a couple of seconds before they stood back up.
