The OCZ 520 has been revised and has PCI-E and a 20+4 pin like the enermax.
Which one? Modstream or Powerstream (or both?).

Only reviews I could find on the blue storm were of the 400w variety.
Same here, must've had in my head 400=500 watt when I said other 500+ watt version.

Enermax 485w 18a/18a but it has it listed as 32a total too.

The powerstream.

In all my research i only saw one thread ever about a PC&C burning in out, and it look like it was the users error. none of the other psu mentioned in this thread are even in the same class as the 510. if you want to say it lound, thats fine, but come on give me a break, the OCZ guys will tell themselves there psu's arent in the same class as PC&C.

I saw three different threads about the PC&C on one forum, concensus was that PC&C just sent out a bad batch. Looking through my history for it now though..

Have you checked all the spec's on the SLI or the 510 Express? 34A solid on the +12 >38A max at lower operating temps. Regulation on these +12's is 1% along with ripple as well. They handle "brown outs" down to 80 VAC. Their tested operating temp's are 50C!! Find these specs on another PSU. Most (almost all) PSU manufacturers test their units at 25C. This is misleading as operating temp's are increased your power output decreases. If their are rumors of them being "bad" or "burning up" than thats exactly what they are "rumors." 5 yr warranty and the craftsmanship cannot be beat. At the same time there are several PSU's which will power your sys just dandy. A word of advice on the 510's : they are NOT quiet, but as I did, the 80mm fan has a 2 pin connector and is not soddered into the PSU's wiring and can be easily replaced with a fan of your choice (obviously voids the warranty)!! They are very expensive, but if your sporting an SLI sys than $ is obviously not a factor. 🙂

You'll have to use the extra SLI connectors that come with the video cards but it should be fine because it has the 24pin scheme

Regarding the PCP&C 510 "failures" those "7" you listed were indeed a bad set of "inductor coils" in a recent batch of the PSU. This was confirmed by Larry at PCP&C a while ago. Now why don't you do a search for "OCZ Power Stream Failures". I get 600+ in google. Search for "PCP&C Failures" in google gives me 54 results. You will be hardpressed to find a powersupply better than the PCP&C 510 SLI. Zippy makes a 700 Watt thats better, but thats about it. Now ALL powersupply companies send out bad supplies from time to time (including the best), but you will see much less problems with PCP&C supplies, they use only the best components. Also, there's a reason the Alienware and VoodooPC, and Falcon NW source out their SLI systems with PCP&C supplies and not any other manufacturer. They don't want customers complaining of power issues. They give them the best.

Regarding the loudness; I have an 510 SLI, and it is not loud at all, my 2 6800 Ultras are whats loud in my system. This PSU may be louder than an antec, but it is not that loud, and I have no other fans in my system...I use phasechange 🙂 So trust me, it would bother me if it was loud.

Lastly, if you go to OCZ's bleeding edge forums ask their guys about their PSU's versus the 510 SLI. They have stated before even their Powerstreams (520W and 600W) were not in the same league (and should not be compared) as the PCP&C 510 SLI. And IMHO their PSU's are about the only other companies (besides Zippy's) I would even consider.

So if you want no issues in a real SLI setup that will be overclocked (6800 GT's and above) than get the best. If you are running 6600GT's, as most reviews have said, a solid 450+W PSU will most likely do perfectly fine.
