An RC car/truck for my dog to chase?

I've always wanted to get an RC car that my dog can chase around, i'm pretty sure he'd like it, but maybe he would be afraid of it or just not care. Got a big yard pretty close to where i live where i take him often, so i got a lot of ground to cover. Not even sure if i could get one fast enough, since i'm not willing to spend much. He's a fast dog (golden retriever). Under $50 definitely, but i'd rather spend under $30. I guess it would also have to have a fairly decent range on it. Also the area i plan to use it in is pretty bumpy, and there are gopher holes everywhere. So maybe an offroad type thing would be good. Any recommendations?

unless you're going to let your dog chew the crap out of the car, i think it will get bored of just chasing it. i could be wrong tho.

to get something that can out run a dog and be offroad your going to need to look at a hobby class type. its over your price range but I would look at like a traxxas rustler RTR or a Traxxas Stampede RTR I had a rustler a few years back and its a fun little toy and can deal with offroad situations well

I googled them em, look cool indeed. Are they fast? Definitely out of my price range though, maybe it'll show up on Woot.com someday 🙂

I am kinda worried that my dog will chew it up, he does like to try and chew everything. Something he couldn't get his mouth around would be good, that could be hard though since he'd probably go for the tires.

my rustler did about 25ish with a stock motor in it, you can put a bigger moter in it and a different gear and get it to 30+ pretty easy

My Lab is afraid of RC cars. Even little slow electric ones. She wouldn't want to chase my nitro powered OFNA LD3, nor could she catch it if she wanted to (it is loud, stinky and will hit speeds of over 40mph).

WARNING- I ran my RC car for my two English Bulldogs one time I live on a culdesac it was a blast they were going insane.

Well after the first battery ran down, they tried to kill it, then I noticed serious blood droplets on the cement driveway, they had completely shredded the pads on their paws, big flakes of skin were coming off in chunks, not good, I had to carry them outside to go to the bathroom for a couple of days, they healed up fine, but I felt rather guilty. So keep it on soft ground, imo.

🙁
I've always wanted to get my dog a disco ball - she (a german sheperd) loves chases light reflections/flashlight "beams?" lol.
I don't think you'll find a good enough (fast enough) RC car that's offroad and near your proce range. I'd browse around eBay if I were you or watch out for a deal/special

rc cars scares my dog too😛

and yea laser pointer ftw! make it run all around the house. perfect for exersizing it on rainy days😛 get one that uses regular batteries so u can recharge.

We're too lazy! My mutt goes crazy after my RC truck. She also tries to eat the broom, mop, and duster. Also... Lazer Pointer FTW!

He gets bored with fetching pretty quick, and he never brings anything back to me, he just takes it away and guards it for the rest of the outing.

yup laser pointer 4tw.

even funner with 2 dogs, although some would call making them run into eachother cruel I just think its funny 🙂. and they don't seem to mind to much

I've been looking around at RC cars for fun lately, i do want one, if not for my dog then for me. Are the nicer ones usually pretty durable? I'd like to make them go off jumps and stuff without having to worry much.

The faster they are, the easier it is to break stuff when you hit something you didn't intend to hit.

laser pointers for the win.

my little brother takes a cd when the dog is in his room and reflects the light to make the dog chase it. he absolutely goes crazy.
