I don't know - if this merits it's own thread but nonetheless.

I'm from scandinavia - and i buy from one of the largest "electronics" e-tailers in Scandinavia for hardware, most of the time.

Mostly because they provide best prices, clear and simple.

It's generally accepted here in Scandinavia that prices we see on newegg and so on, we can only DREAM about.

Import taxes, more GDP etc etc
Just makes charging more for the same product, ridiculously easy.

I purchased a 2500k, in august 2011.
Intel Core? i5 Quad Processor i5-2500K
3,3GHz, Socket LGA1155, 6MB, Boxed

Afsendt
1.00
1.349,00 DKK
1.349,00 DKK

Granted that's on sale back then... it ammounts to:

249.331 USD

Spoiler alert on new sales prices for the FX 8150:
AMD FX-8150 8-Core Processor
Socket- AM3+, 3.6Ghz, 125W, 8MB L2 + 8MB L3, 32nm

1.899,00 DKK

...and with todays rates:

350.897 USD

You ameriKAAAANS, need to be happy you live there.

An overseas western europe AMD fanboy is REALLY getting shafted, REALLY bad.

EDIT:

Another very large e-tailer will charge...drumroll please:

"2.121 kr"

Thats 15 dollars cheaper the 2600k.

I wonder if AMD will sell at all, in western europe?

They're selling the FX-8150 for USD300+ here, undisclosed location. 😉

I doubt they would be selling any with that kind of price/performance and price/watt.

why do you think mail forwarding companies are showing up everywhere?

My country is not much better in prices. None listed yet, but I suspect somewhere between $300 and $350 US as well for the top one.

In most liklyhood, units that are not flown here will take about a month to hit the shelves of the average store.
