I used to own bikes and when I had problems with them compression starting always seemed to work. It will turn it over much faster than the starter ever could. Just get on a small slope and coast down in second gear or so and pop the clutch, make sure you are hanging on...

p.s. dont forget to have the key on.

I got it home from the dealer the first time by riding it home. when I picked it up tuesday, I put it in my truck.
