LOL, same thing I was thinking. Could they just spend that "proposed" money on computers for the schools?

Why the hell would they need that? The vast majority of schools have computers that are more than sufficient for the needs to the students (though they may lack the necessary support staff).

Downloadable class lectures for your Ipod? You just drive up to school, plug your ipod into the computer mainframe, download the lectures then go back home and listen to them. Michigan doesn't have to pay teachers anymore.. just a couple companies to creature the downloaded lectures.. and Michigan makes billions$$$!!1oneone

I wonder if Creative and MS will sue becaue they are not offering their products
Or the RIAA will step in, since people who can't afford an iPod likely won't be paying for iTunes music.
Also on the table, and playing a more prominent role Thursday, were expensive new programs, including $100 million for investments in Michigan's downtowns and a $38-million proposal that would provide iPods or MP3 players for all Michigan students to use as learning tools. (link)

When I lived in Michigan from 7th-8th grade, I brought one of those lecture recorders to school and the Vice Principal freaked out on me when he saw me sitting outside after school writing my notes from it.

Granholm is a moron as are her minions. The city of detroit is corrupt through and through and until a Tsunami wipes it out, nothing will change. Factor in a decaying automotive industry and union members with poor financial skills and low education and you have the perfect receipe for disaster.

Funny thing... when I was in K-12 schools here in Michigan, I wasn't allowed to even have a basic calculator in class.
