I dearly miss my garage. Squirrel in my engine bay - had 3 babies in it a few days ago. For the pouring rain days. For the frost-on-window mornings. Just a pain in the ass without one.

the rear window on my car was shot out by a pellet gun, while it sat in my driveway. some asshole just decided i needed to replace it.

a single pellet in the lower corner of the rear window caused the entire rear windshield to fracture into very small fragments. after spreading a sheet under it, some light flexing caused the entire thing to fall inwards on the sheet (in very small fragments).

i now park with the front windshield facing outwards. i figure tempered glass should bounce a pellet right off.

I've never seen that kind of sticker before. Is it a national or local thing?

a little off topic here but: Jlee, how would you feel/think if you pulled someone over for speeding and they have that sticker on their car, and after you talk to them you discover that they are in fact NOT part of any civil service group? Would you break a tail light with your baton and say "you need to get that fixed, heres your ticket cockbag."

It wasn't intended as a troll or derailment, or anything personal, in fact I rather like you Jlee. However, to me that sticker is no different than a gang sign.

wow. so should all stickers supporting any group of people be banned? Girl Scouts even?

Do NOT start this crap again...

Yeah, that will help earn him a spot on the local PD...

ARS 13-408. Justification; use of physical force in defense of property
A person is justified in using physical force against another when and to the extent that a reasonable person would believe it necessary to prevent what a reasonable person would believe is an attempt or commission by the other person of theft or criminal damage involving tangible movable property under his possession or control, but such person may use deadly physical force under these circumstances as provided in sections 13-405, 13-406 and 13-411.

If they just broke one window, one could reasonably believe they aren't done with whatever they are doing and that force is necessary to prevent the commission of further damage, or reasonably believe that breaking the window is a precursor to theft of objects within the vehicle or the vehicle itself, which you have a right to stop with physical force.

If they run:

ARS 13-3884. Arrest by private person
A private person may make an arrest:
1. When the person to be arrested has in his presence committed a misdemeanor amounting to a breach of the peace, or a felony.
2. When a felony has been in fact committed and he has reasonable ground to believe that the person to be arrested has committed it.

Other statutes which escape me at the moment cover the right to pursue and detain the person using minimal necessary force until PD can arrive to take custody and use of escalated force if in the process of lawful detainment the person resists and presents a threat.

Sadly it's getting proven our freaking people want to just bend over and let it happen. Getting involved is bad apparently today.

That said...I am seriously preparing for near daily carry. The next item in my arsenal will be a tactical pen though.

It's not for everybody. There is always a risk of bringing injury or death to yourself when confronting an unknown aggressor, especially for the average person not prepared for it. It's a personal decision to take that risk, but the law is on your side in AZ should you chose to lawfully and successfully pursue or stop someone.

my point was the people may bitch about that action despite the law.

I agree fully. I take that risk. My wife really worries lately. I just tell her I die you get six figures to move back to japan. :)

That said, I am looking at carrying concealed most days.
