HE'S 12 YEARS OLD

This explains a lot - i guess from his perspective Linux is free which is better than paying for windows. Now since he is 12, his time is indeed worthless which means linux is free to him... (he can still talk on AOL ...OMG WTF LOL!! ain't that all they do anyway?)

Except the first time his Mandrake default install craps out, he'll be back to being a 133t windows haxx0r

I say we ban all underage users 😀

Not necessarily 12 imagine it would depend on when he started using windows.

I don't know what you are talking about, I have been running the same Fedora Core installation and an Ubuntu on my other computers and laptop for a year now , not a single problem, also my desktop is running Fedora Core 4 x86-64 version nothing was hectic about it, see the problem dumbass you need to select a version of Linux that you can work with , for you I would recommend DSL, you don't have any knwoledge to run anything else that doesn't boot from a cd.

Dumb$hit I was showing you what I meant with my post after I edited it.

I can't believe that a stupid member that has the name of LinuxIdiot , has the nerves to comment about a topic relating to Linux, go fckyourself or something !!

Edit : I don't understand how you morons are making fun of me posting this in the off topic section, well it's simple to explain, its a fcking rant thats why I don't have any intention to have a " This vs That Arguement", there are alredty millions of those around go there for that, but still you dolts still push me to prove to you how much fcking lies M$ feeds you, and you still STFU , maybe it's because your idiots, hmmm I thhink I have just found the answer.
Well have fun paying that $ 100 + pricetag on that $hitty Vista you will be buying only to to reinstall after a couple of weeks of system crashes, and when reintalling it, go suck Bill G8tes Dck so he alows you to reactivate it. and don't forget that shopping cart filled with loads of software to give that windows OS of yours some essential lif support. and after armoring windows with $ 400 woth of software come here and start bragging about how stable Vista actually is. " Security is integrated" well good luck with that.

Hell yeah? Oh.

It is apparent that we are not far off the mark with the 12-15 yo age range. I cannot find where it is refuted. My guess now is 8th grade. 8th graders and college sophmores are at the peak of "know-it-all"edness (I know, not a word, still working on the coffee).

Maybe he doesn't realise that you own Anandtech and all its related subsidaries.

The reason that people are making fun of you is because of the way in which you are going about your rant. Everyone here has heard the anti-Microsoft ramblings time and time again, and everyone's bored of it now. You're not making an impressive stand against The Man. You're not stopping the spread of capitalism.
What you are doing is proving that you're twelve years old.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that you don't really know how to work Windows at all. I'm not going to regail you with tales of how stable the machines I use are, nor at how long they've been running without a single problem, as you'll do your best to twist anything that's not in favour of burning the Microsoft flag into an anti-sensibilities, fanboi-esque, feces-slinging "rant", while you beat your pudgy hands on your $4.99 Walmart keyboard, crying tears of pain and vowing to "take the Man down" whenever you can.

Welcome to life, kid. Come back in a few years when you've learnt how to act in a mature fashion, and learnt how to actually debate something without throwing your toys out of the pram, and then we'll talk. Until then, I wish you many happy nights with Rosie and her five friends.

The reason behind the rant is as follows below in an interview , that was all over the internet :

Chris Jones : You will not get spyware and malware on your computer anymore.

Interviewer : Why not?

Chris Jones : Because we have great Anti-Malware/Spyware support built into the system!!!

The Linuxator : ; turns off BS alarm; -------------> at this instant the need for a rant on AT was absolute.

linux is a great idea...it is better left on paper.

it sucks when you actually try and make something work in it. linux cant even get normal hardware to work, my linksys wmp54g wifi card is working like a champ in linux. *shrug* better yet install something and lets see, i bet this app needs 45,000 dependencies. you are hilarious linuxator, and you get off starting up on windows??? my windows stuff works just fine....dont get me started on linux...

So? are you adding something new here? I never said linux is perfect , hell a while ago when I frst started to use Linux, I had to go through the horrors of trying to install a wifi card on a linux distro, I satrted bashing linux users everywhere even on this forum. But then I understood why it can't work, it's because of the manafacturers of the cards not giving the linux community any info about the chipsets they are using so linux developers have to try all methods possible such as Ndiswrapper and sometimes it works and most of the time it doesn't, ppl working on getting these mysterious cards to work, and devoting themselves for that cause without getting any real reward deserve recognition don't you think? Its a different story from windows they supply windows users with drivers and apps to get everything working just like that. but at least Intel laptop wifi cards are nativelty supported by kernel 2.6+ so thats good news. such as the case for my IBM R50e express laptop.

PS : But always keep in mind did you pay those programers 1 cent, no, so it's not a fair comparison with windows, you pay $ 100 + for windows , well it better work allright !!!

He lies, too. He said that he's been using linux for over a year. Read the above. Then look at his date joined.

Plus, the Moderators usually lock threads like these, but as they haven't, my conclusion is that they're leaving it open because it entertains them as well.

And Windows is just fine stability-wise since Win2K, I have a Win2K machine at work and rarely have problems.

I thought Windows was unstable....

So, which one is it? Stable or unstable?

My main gripe isnt with Mplayer thats one big problem yes but its the arrogance of many in the open source community
they think people were born with a gentoo manual installation guide preloaded into their braincells by the Dr using an invisible hot plug USB 2.0 port in the back of the skull jeeeez!!!!!! sometimes I feel the open source community isnt open at all LOL

I thought you lived for Linux?

Though I am not a casual user,I am a Computer Science and Engineering student

At 12 years old, you're the first.

and one hell of a hardcore pc gamer

Yes, of course you are.

, system tweaker software and hardware wise ( If you check my win registry you most probably not recognise it as windows registry I never take stock and use it it most be optimised for my usage )

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Of course, I forgot that you can completely re-write the Windows registry and still have it work! Silly me.

You're hilarious Sam, keep it up. We could all do with regular entertainment like this.

Windows is always bashed for being so wide open for security threats. We all know that it is the dominent desktop so it is naturally going to be a target for the vast majority of those same threats.

If Macintosh or Unix were to become the dominent desktop, we'd all be complaining of how full of holes and exploits they are simply because it would mean there is money to be made in those desktops using unethical software.

As long as all the OS's focus on features and become more bloated, the easier it becomes for a needle to be tossed into that huge haystack.

And I can install mplayer with 1 command in Debian (and Ubuntu I believe). RH/Fedora complicates things because there's too many external repositories needed to get all of the apps you might want, with Debian there's 1 main one with ~16,000 packages and 1 extra for mplayer because mplayer has some possibly patent infringing code in it so it can't go in Debian proper.

Do me a favour Phil go buy your self a pair of glasses or increase that font size on that stupid windows box you are typing from.

Your quoting skills were so bad in that thread that you made Nothinman's quote look like your own. But hey, sure, I'll give you that one.

Y'see, now there you go again. Surely by this point you would have realised that you're going about your personal crusade the wrong way?

Please, do quote me saying that I love Windows. I don't deny that Windows has it's faults, in the same way that Linux has it's faults. I use and support Linux at work, but that doesn't mean I'm evangelical about it.
Oh, and I'd love to see you back up your claims about "stealing rights online and offline", "invading your privacy" and "steal(ing) your money", that would be a most entertaining read. Sadly, you'll probably ignore this as with any other question that you don't seem to be able to answer without making yourself look like a child.
Oh, wait, you are a child. Silly me.

1. Criticize.

2. Maybe when you'll grow up you'll learn the time-honoured phrase "two wrongs don't make a right". Or hey, maybe you'll just grow up.

3. Please define how I am an idiot. For all intents and purposes, I'm someone who's pointing out that you're an obsessive, immature and childish addition to the gene pool. If that makes me an idiot in your eyes, then so be it. It's not like I'm going to lose any sleep over the insane ramblings of a 12-year-old on the Internet.
