Plastic is more gas permeable compared to aluminum so the cans generally will have more gas compared to plastic. I assume glass will be the same way which is why sodas in glass bottles may taste better.

Also aren't the glass bottles just washed and reused when they were shaped like that? In HK, you can buy a glass bottle of Coke in some restaurants, but they won't allow you to remove it from the premises.

I can't remember where I heard this, but plastic and metal containers need more gas in them to maintain the integrety of the container (ie stiffness).
Glass can have just the right amount of carbonation because its strength is not dependent on carbonation.
Plus, there is something about the transfer rate of the coldness of the glass and the soda and how it feels on your mouth that heightens the effect of how good it tastes in glass.

They should change the formula. No one has ever been that bold. I bet the idea would kill. Shooting off an email to Pepsico's CEO and buying plenty of stock!!!

I remember those. 🙂 They sell the bottled Coke with real sugar in a local convenience store.

How is HFCS not "real sugar?" 😕

Fructose = sugar just the same as Sucrose/Dextrose are a different sugar.

Only cane sugar is "real" sugar. Everyone knows this.

You used to be able to make good money for a kid by returning glass bottles to the store to collect the deposit. I bet if you brought a glass bottle to the store these days they would look at you funny and throw rotten tomatoes at you.

Best thing Pepsi can do is lower it's prices... then Coke will lower their prices and I'll be able to drink Coke all day long!

You can buy it as cane stalk or "raw," both of which are completely different that processed sucrose/dextrose from sugar cane. How is that not MORE "real?" HFCS is far closer to sucrose/dextrose so, IOW, you are saying that you like highly processed stuff and think that it's somehow more "real."

FWIW, corn is man-made and doesn't exist in nature... and I don't just mean hybrid corn we eat today vs. the maize of the Native Americans. I even mean the corn the Aztecs and Mayans ate didn't and couldn't exist in nature.

I think Barry Bonds should do Preperation H commercials, "FIGHT ROID RAGE!, with Preperation H!"
