What a surprise," says Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) researcher Rob Suggs, who recorded the impact's flash. He and colleague Wes Swift were testing a new telescope and video camera they assembled to monitor the moon for meteor strikes. On their first night out, "we caught one," says Suggs.

Meteors striking the surface of both the Moon and Mars is the primary reason that establishing any type of habitat or base on either is a stupid notion and should be left to the realm of Science Fiction.

CONFIRMED: It wasn't a meteor, it was the result of Chuck Norris playing designated hitter in a pickup game of baseball in miami.

I can just imagine someone spending $1Mil for a house out there just to have it smashed within days. Makes as much sense as buying one of those Eric-Estrada-endorsed land developments in the heart of Hurricane Alley and rebuilding/repairing every year.

And gravity is the sole reason people should give up the endeavor of flying...
And risk is the sole reason people should never fly to the moon...
etc.

Hopefully you're never in a leadership role. Luckily there are people with more vision creating such opportunities in spite of those that say it couldn't, or shouldn't, be.
