An episode of Star Trek made me cry last night

Uhm if star trek makes you cry then I hope nothing sad happens to you IRL because you may be truly devastated.

Also there's nothing wrong with crying once in a while during movies or TV shows. But I suppose you have a heart of stone right?
 
Was that the one when Sisko was stuck in time or something and kept re-appearing through Jake's life? It was a good episode, one of my favorites through the DS9 series. I think it's on my DVR right now, I should go watch it...lol
 
Yep, that's the one.

What hit me was that every time Ben disappeared, it was like Jake was watching his father die again. And the way he gave up his entire life plan just to fix things was really moving.

Another couple that really get to people are the TNG episodes "The Offspring" and "The Inner Light." First one is the one where Data builds a daughter. Second one is where Picard gets zapped by a probe and lives out an entire life as another man before waking up five minutes later (though decades have passed for him).

Heh, I remember all of those. There aren't any re-runs of TNG anywhere, are there? I'd like to DVR those episodes too. Right now I have all eps of Voyager and DS9 on Spike set ...

No no I did not mean to come off as a total ass but I realize I did. I shed a few tears last night after watching gran torino and my GF still will not let me live it down.
 
Haven't seen The Visitor in years, but I remember it being pretty sad.

The Inner Light makes me tear a bit.

What really makes me cry is the finale to Babylon 5, Sleeping in Light.

I always liked "Tapestry," where Q gives Picard the opportunity to go back in time and not get into a knife fight that leads to his artificial heart transplant. The choice has a greater effect on Picard's life than he realizes, he ends up as nothing more than a rudimentary science officer.
 
I always liked the DS9 episode "Children of Time", where they land on a planet and meet their own great-grandchildren, only to find out that when they take off there will either be an accident that kills some of them and throws them back in time (setting up things for their descendants), or if they avoid the accident they will erase the existence of the descendants they just met.

Youtube has a few episodes; I think "Inner Light" was among them. But CBS and Paramount are fairly vigilant about their whole copyright thing.

"Far Beyond The Stars" was a good one, too.

Same for me on all three counts. Sleeping In Light is the best series finale ever.
