I'm having a bit of trouble understanding this one, specifically, what is the purpose of C4 and C5? I assume the modulated output of the first stage comes out of the oscillator through C4, but why is the other side connected to the emitter of the transistor as well as the next stage? Why not just connect it straight to the next stage through a single cap?

Thank you doctor freakflag...

where is ATOT's vast reserve of electronic engineers tonight?

C4 is probably needed for the oscillator circuit, that isn't a design I am familiar with. C5 blocks DC from entering the second stage.

Maybe if you tried a different forum... like HT.

would c4 and c5 be used to bias the collector of the transistor( providing a charge)

Figured it out I think - C4 is actually part of the oscillator, not something that takes the output of the oscillator. It's a collpits so it uses two series capacitors. C5 takes the output of the oscillator, probably to filter out and DC, or something similar.
