An election question: Wouldn't recount money be better spent on helping the poor?

AndrewR

Anyone have figures on the cost of the recount in Ohio? I saw something about $150,000. Wouldn't that do far more for the people of Ohio if it's used to feed and clothe the poor?

Seems like a waste of money to me.

😉

Why stop there? Our government seems to be in the business of wasting money.

Would you be asking the same question if Kerry won Ohio? I do not think so. The integrity of our elections is top priority.

Wouldn't the money spent on advertising to get these bozoos elected be better spent on Education, helping the poor, discovering a cure for AIDS/cancer/etc.

they only care about their power over people.

the truth is the democrats dont care about the poor.

they also dont really care about minorities either...

they make statements that sound good but their actions dont follow...welfare and entitlements are not an improvement and only breed dependency on the govt.

40 years and billions upon billions of dollars and what has it gotten them?

Insuring the poor actually have a voice in government seems pretty important.
BTW, it's the Libertarian and Green Party asking for the recount.

This represents approximately 0.000012% of the money dissipated to date on Bush's Iraq incursion. The GOP certainly is the party of governmental prudence and fiscal responsiblity, isn't it? Imagine, the impropriety of seeking to challenge their control. Penny wise, billions foolish.

Ultimately, chimpeachment will help the poor more than the recount money, by far. Not to mention the other positive effects.

Since the recount will help towards getting the chimp out of office, the answer to your question is HELL NO.

As opposed to the Repugs who don't even bother to PRETEND to care about the poor or minorities.

Got it.

Is that why the red states donate more to charity than the blue ?

Is that why Bush actually appoints minorites than just pandering to them ?

Is that why when Bush does appoint minorities the dems calling them nothing more than a bunch of uncle toms and aunt jemimas?

   and a :cookie: for your weak attempt at painting Bush as a champion of the minorities. LMAO. Did you wet yourself when you typed that? Oh BOY, appointments to cabinet positions = caring about minorities and the poor! LOL. And while you are busy eating that cookie, red states putting money in the basket on Sunday does not constitute a charitable contribution. Yep, you beat the blue states hands down in that arena. Congrats.

You do realize that the cost of living is much higher in blue states than it is in red states, right?

Also, just because he appoints of a few minorities, doesn't suddenly make him the greatest person in the world. If appointing mostly one group avoids people like Alberto Gonzales, then who cares?
