an easy way to switch back from XP to ME

Before you slap me with the trout, I'll tell you why I want to do this.

1) While my printer works, alot of the features don't, it'll do basic printing, but thats about it(epson740). It doesn't look like Epson gonnna change that anytime soon.
2) Scanner, The driver just ain't quite right, and it can't scan gray scale right, it cuts the image in half and flips the to pieces (Mustek1200ub)

While I do realize these aren't high end and are fairly cheap I don't want to replace then, I would like any suggestions to make things work better, would pefer to keep XP thoughh ME did run fine on this computer with the exception of IE for some reason.

So barring any good ideas is there anything shoet of a fresh install of ME.

Thanks Todd

I do realize that ME is one of the more suckier OSs out there, but it seemed to run fine while I had it, it just doesn't seems that Epson isn't gonna fully support the 740 in XP, and until I can afford to upgrade to a better printer then the 740 is what I need to use. I've printed a couple of photos under XP and XP just doesn't seem to push the resoulution that I need to get a decent photo, Under ME it works fine, the scanner is less of a big deal just a pain, but I need the printer to print right. I got 98 not SE laying around to, if you all would think that would be better then ME. I like XP but it doesn't do what I need it to do, I am open to suggestions, short of buying new equipment. Thanks todd

I'd give the up printing, scanning, hell probably the computer if I had to go back to WindowsME. It's literally garbage; not worthy of runing a finance program for local girl scout cookie sales.
